Fired it up for the first time today. Comp coupe cam, Good heads (320 cfm), 1 7/8 headers and stock fuel system. Will break it in and dyno it this coming week. We wanted to keep it quiet so we are running the exhaust through the factory muffler and cross over. So that may cost us some power. But we would still be happy to see 620 rw hp NA with such a small cam.
After the One Lap then we put in the big solid cam and the AEM and that should really wake it up.

A 577 with factory exhaust???? I would love to hear that thing through race or no cats with a Corsa.

We decided to try to keep it as quiet as possible for the One Lap as the drivers have about 5000 miles of driving to do. It will still have a ripping sound thru the stock exhaust. We may put a 3.5 in. exhaust on it after the One Lap when we put the big cam in it.

I would have a raging hard-on for that 5000 miles. I assume that you just have the 708 cam in this one?
Cool. On a side note... How is the 3/4 mile shootout coming? Still looking forward to that event.
TexasMile wont allow it as they think its too dangerous (maybe they are right). I do have another location that I am looking at that I think might just work. I will keep you posted.

yes, the current cam in the 577 is the 708 comp coupe cam. i have a pretty good idea what kind of rw hp we are going to see. what i really want to see is the torque curve. i think the big cubes is really going to make a stump puller.
John, didn't you say a while back that you were putting something together even bigger than 577? Or is 577 your biggest?
we had looked at doing a slightly larger bore and stroke for a 605 CID package. but we felt that for the first one that it would be a good idea to start on the conservative side. thus we start with 577 CID, small cam, stock fuel system, etc. if we can prove up good results with the current package then we may get more aggressive on future builds.
the 577 CID with 708 cam is essentially our marine package which we plan to offer Ilmor V10 boat owners wanting more than 550 or 625 hp.
