This past weekend Cindi Lux took both the Sat. and Sunday races, with Scottie in second on Saturday. There was some violation on Sunday that got Scottie dq'd , but I was sure what the issue was , though I seem to recall that it may have had something to do with the grid or pit-lane. Surely someone on the West Coast can enlighten us, but the end result was 2 wins for the new Coupe , and Cindi obviously drove very well. Pretty sure they were at Willow Springs, but my info is a bit short and I am sure someone will get all the pertinent data .
Well, best to clean up your own mess, and boy did I have my info screwed up. Cindi and Scottie were not at Willow Springs, but at Willows , California ( site of Thunderhill Raceway ). Cindi did win both days, though she and Scottie were within scant tenths of a second in qualifying. Scottie was second on Saturday , but a pitlane violation did get him censured on Sunday. Two wins for the new Coupe, but not a lucky weekend for Scottie.
We should see some more wins from these two , running in T1, and it is nice to see the Viper back battling for the wins in this top "Stock " Classification.

Heh he... Thanx for the Kudos Bill, lemmy see if I can help ya dig out here with some info straight form the source...
Cindi & I had originally debuted the cars (2006 SRT10 coupes) seperately as they were not completed in the build process at the same time and Cindi races out of the Northern Pacific Division and I race out of the Southern Pacific Division so her car debuted at Cal Speedway in January with a pole position (but no fanfare due to no graphics) and the car suffered a small transmission problem resulting in a second place finish to a Corvette Arggghhh I ran my pole setting 04 car from runoffs and was crashed out by the corvette that won 1/2 way through the race
Next time out was the first time for my new coupe and this time we went to Willow Springs to serve up a little payback to the corvette wanker who crashed into us at Cal Speedway...
Let's just say we freeekin buried him by 9 seconds in the first 3 laps and forgot about him not to mention outqualifying him by 3 seconds...
On to this weekend,
We were at T-Hill in Willows CA (hence the confusion Bill) BTW it's ScottY not Scottie
Anyway, Cindi and I qualified right in the middle of a bunch of GT2 cars only a few hundredths apart and ran nose to tail for the entire race with Cindi taking the win. For the Saturday race, the wind was howling and as Cindi was heading out for qualifying the wind whipped up and wrapped an awning tiedown around her ankle and she went down hard herting her right wrist bad... It cost her and she ended up back about a second from me in qualifying...
In the race she was having trouble shifting and I baled out front until a tire went down... Luckily I managed to detect it right in the middle of a 120mph corner and still hang onto the car...By the next corner it was on the rim...
I was almost collected by several GT1 cars while trying to limp back around the 4 mile track so I pulled up to a back gate and the crew met me and changed the tire & wheel and we went back out. Unfortunately we were DQ'd for receiving assistance in a non-approved area
We did manage to slightly lower the qualifying and race records but not sure if the race record will stand due to the DQ...
That's my story and I'm stickin to it...
sbw (getting fitted for a dress since I was skirted 2 days in a row)

Dang, Scotty, got so egg-sided about how you two did, I just misspelled your name without thinking. Anyway, better luck next race as we need to see Scotty B. Good, back up on that podium.
Naykid Racing is following a strong 2005, with what looks like an even better 2006. Heard you will both be at the SRT Nationals in Topeka in July ( should be a great party and lots of track time , both dragstrip and road course ), so see you there!
Hey guys, Scotty and I sure appreicate all your kind words and support. The new coupes really feel awesome on the track.
Man, I can't believe what a klutz I was on saturday to fall flat on my face and twisted up my arm. As you know, these vipers aren't the easiest thing in the world shift with a "healthy" arm let a lone with a busted up arm. Sunday's race was one of toughest and longest races I have done in a long time!!
And my teammate Scotty cannot buy himself any luck this year!! Man, he is getting it from all angles. But you know, he one tough and determined driver so things will turn around for him very, very soon.
Our next race is in a few weeks down at Buttonwillow. Would love to have any of you down in the southern california area stop by.
Congrats to both Cindi and Scotty. Much has been made of the oiling problems of the SRT-10 and some say that even the Comp Coupe pan and swinging arm pickup does not solve this. Have you all found a way to solve this issue and if so, can you share?
I think your best answer on the Comp Coupe oil pan not working can be answered by;
1. The finishes of Cindi and Scotty.
2. The World Challenge Finishes by the Comp Coupes.
a) Mike McCann --1st
b) Bob Woodhouse - 3rd
c) Rob Foster - 9th
d) Skip Sauls -10th
One often wonders if some things are truly issues or if they are spread by the competition. I am not saying that the stock pan shouldn't be replaced by active drivers/racers, but the results do speak louder than words.
Just my humble opinion, but I think racing oftens improves the breed and does show if concerns still exist.

I was just curious because of the guy that had the Comp Coupe pan that recently posted about losing his motor to an oiling issue. But you make a good point that there are numerous comp coupes out there that are being aggressively campaigned on a regular basis on slicks that aren't having oiling issues. It makes one wonder if there wasn't an installation or other isolated issue for the occasional ones that have failed.

Hey Kenny,
we use the CC pan and swinging pickup from the CC and it seems to work perfectly with no problems at all. We have run the cars at tracks with very high speed sustained G corners such as Willow Springs and Road America with no trouble whatsoever.
It is very typical of high performance sports cars (even some dry sump cars such as the early 996) to develop oil starvation problems once you upgrade to sticky tires and do suspension mods. The Corvettes are well known for killing themselves in T1 and they all run an accusump to avoid this issue.
I have known of several Gen II & III cars who run without the ACR or CC pans but I love the peace of mind knowing I can lay into it hard with no worries
A $1800 safety net sems cheap when you look at it like that, heck that's less than 2 sets of tires
