Ok guys. I know this has been somewhat discussed at a different thread (as in this thread), but i was wondering how you all felt.
Do you think that it is worth the investment? I live in the Chicago suburbs and theres constant road work from about March through October, so as you can imagine, a lot of debris, and I would hate to have to respray my snake in a few years because of chips and scratches that could have been prevented. Thanks in advance.
Also, for those of you who do own it, how well has it seemed to work?
Jason
EDIT: Xpel is made by 3M as far as i know

i have the 3M, maybe the same thing.Anyways i have the front end installed but also the sills behind the front and rear tires...well worth it in my opinion
I am also considering that too. Would it be very noticable on a black car? Also anywhere you guys reccomend to have it put on? I am in the chicago area.
I did a full wrap on my 06. They also did 24" up the hood. I did not use this on my previous vipers and the front ends show the nicks from rocks on the road. It's a rather inexpensive way to keep your vehicle's paint from showing it's age on the road. I would highly recommend it as the first thing you do to your car when you take delivery.

What part of Chicago? I'm up in the Northwest suburbs (Schaumburg/Hoffman Area), by Woodfield.
In the city, Capital Auto Body can do the installation. Theres also Protech and Advantage Auto Accessories in Buffalo Grove and Body-Skins in South Elgin.
I'm sure theres more but those are the only ones I could think of off the top of my head.
EDIT: A basic Estimate for the cost is around $300 for the front bumper kit and another $300 for the hood, fender and mirror kit... It takes about 5 hours to apply and will cost roughly $400 in labor around that area.
I am also in the Hoffman/Schaumburg area. I am having body-skins do it for $580 for everything. He is coming to my house to do it as well tomorrow. I will let you know how it goes.

Hehe. Good to see someone else from that area. I'd love to hear how it goes.
Nice to see that he's coming out to your house... That's what I call customer service! I'd love to hear how it goes and how it looks on your car. I'm looking to get it done when i come back up in May
Does that $580 include both the bumper and hood kit and labor? or is that just labor and bumper kit?
I had mine done for 650. It looked like a fat bitch, stretch marks all over the place. I got home, saw the car, and called the fuckers to have them pull it off. I am going to have to use another place somewhere down here.
I had the 3m bra put on also, and it looked like Frankenstein, I could see all the slit's where they spliced it together. I told them to take it off, I am still trying to find a place here in salt lake city,
Gorgeous... thats exactly what i was hoping to see. looks like i know who to call now when i get back up to Chicago in a few weeks. Who was the guy that did it? it looks absolutely phenominal. can't even notice it.
Gorgeous car, by the way, but those wheels have to go! hope to see you around town!
