i know this is not a great deal of help but if u saw the tuesday edition of unique whips the guy put on some rims(staggered) on a f430 - very clean - he also put on rims on a rrs and a lambo which i didn't care for but i wonder if anyone else saw that episode...
I have the 3M installed on all my customers race cars and try to encourage it on their Vipers and other cars as well. It works very well and saves not only the car but your wallet too. I have never had a problem with install with the guy I use.
XPEL is a company that uses the 3M material. I've used the Xpel front end clear bra on my last four cars, it works great if you do a lot of high speed highway driving. I installed it myself on all four cars, you just need to take your time with it. It installs best when the outside temp is warm, or in a warm (70+) garage. If you have a dark colored car, you will see the edges when you wax the car, it tends to buildup around there. I will most likely install a few pieces on my SRT10, especially on the head lights and hood.
After reading this thread I called and made an appt to have it done to my car. Unfortunately I have a few chips already so having them touched up first. If I would have only known about this 6 months ago.
Rick, you should be fine. White is the easiest color for them to do. My red car showed every little stretch mark. I had them do it again, same result. I took it to another place, and again, same thing. I finally found a little different material than the 3M, and it doesn't have the top coat that the 3M does. It lays extremely flat, no stretch marks at all. The 3M is great for cars that are out in the sun every day, but since mine isn't, the other material works out better. I am brain farting on the brand, but can get the info if you would like it.
