Paxton Air-Fuel #'s???

What air-fuel #'s ...is considered safe for the paxton kit? Im seeing 12:3 in very cold Maryland air... I use water-Meth ...but it doesn't seem to change the air-fuel #'s....

with water/meth, you can tune to a 12.0 - 12.2 (depending on the mix... a 50/50 mix allows more... washer fluid may be 13% meth...) but with 93 octante, shoot for 11.5-11.8 max. 12.3 won't kill you, but if the air gets even better then you could go too lean. safe would be 11.5-12.0 .

but different cars like different AF ratios. I recently tuned a car that was a dog until 12.1 on pump gas. my car is a dog at 11.0 while others love 11.0.

good luck!

The car isn't tuned for water/meth...I just wanted to cool down the intake charge...I was hoping i'd see it on the a/f guage....but i didn't... I assume when the air gets warmer I should run "Fatter" correct? Thanks

Wink

12.3 may be a little lean for pump gas , I would stay safe and keep it in the 11s , especially when it is warmer. Run 109 race fuel and you should be fine at 12.3 on the dyno or track when you want to run the piss out of it.
(All this is just my conservative/stay on the safe side, opinion)

BTW are you measuring AF at the tail pipe on the dyno , or thru a wideband sensor closer to the motor?

post cat? in that case, the A/F will show leaner than it really is. You want to measure on the driver's side in front of the cats, preferably before (or at) the turn from the header. location, location, location!

Also, you didn't say if you were mixing WM or just using washer fluid. Washer fluid is incredibly inconsistent... it can be up to 13% Meth but that is "up to"... it may not be. mixing your own is the best way. And if you are running that much water and that little meth, you won't see any AF difference.

can't trust the reading if it is post cat. either move it or sell it... w/o the proper location, the data in't really worth much.

just my.02...
