I've seen guys running 200 shot's of nitrous with 93 octane, NX says the 300 shot is doable, has anyone done this yet on 93 octane? I'm getting my new SRT Friday and want to add some juice. I probably won't go higher than 200
Yea I had a BTR nitorus/propane set up on my old 99GTS (10.2 @ 142) I'm not interested in dealing with propane, I'll probably run a 175 shot on 93 octane and maybe a 250 on race gas... I'll keep a close eye on the wideband.
with out a serious setup I wouldn't try a 300. 200 on pump will be ok if you have the plugs setup right and keep it fat. On good fuel 300 shouldn't be a problem, but keep a close eye on things, and watch those cold days.
Like Rogue said... it's "doable" but you would always have to keep an eye on it, plus the regular adjustments. And run the risk of blowing something if it's not tuned to the T. Honestly just wait for the TT stuff

Do you think timing should be pulled if Im running 110 octane? The 300 shot would only be run once every blue moon if I decide to go after some of Orlando's quickest street cars.
TT would be nice Chris, but I would void my warranty not to mention the significant cost of going TT. The Paxton is a great value, I can get a paxton with the aftercooler for $6500 but again the warranty goes bye bye.

You think NOS isn't going to void your warranty or that you can pull it off if something goes boom???
Dodge Regional Rep: "how did these holes in the pistons get there sir"
Mr. Shoulda Bought a Civic: "umm I dunno, but don't look at the holes I drilled in the throttle body, the holes in the firewall where I ran the lines and the holes in the trunk where the bottle was mounted"
No you shouldn't need to pull any timing on C16 with a 300 shot.
And I COMPLETELY agree with Craig, if you're picking N2O based on being able to warranty parts, come back to reality man. The way big nitrous hits break parts they will never be covered by any warranty. Even if you cover the install very well, and plan ahead, it's hard to explain why a "stock car" twisted half shafts like a paper clip, blew a head gasket and cut a groove in the block, etc.
Gotta pay to play, if your worried keep it to 200 on good fuel and she will run like a dream for thousands of miles.
Yea GTS is gone now, I got a really good price for it and I was able to make an even jump from a 99GTS to a 2003SRT, both cars had about the same miles too!
I'm not concerned with burning a hole in a piston, I just want to make sure the driveline is covered if a non nitrous related issue comes about.
Craig, my buddy had an NX kit on his car, he didn't drill one hole in any of the factory parts, the K/N intake had the holes drilled in it so the factory box could easily be reinstalled.
Buy a Honda? Because I like to use the juice I should buy a Honda?? I just want an extra 150 shot on there incase I run into one of you beloved Z06's...

And then you will have beaten a Z06 and had to use nitrous to do so. I could build a mustang for cheaper.
I could build a Pinto that run's 9's for under 10K but I would still be driving a Pinto, no thanks... I'll take my SRT-10 with a little spray over a Rustang.

I understand where you're coming from, as I've done more nitrous installs than I care to recall. It can be done so as to be removed w/o a trace, heck you can install them in a way that it takes a very very close look to find it. But it's still a fact that when driveline parts break from nitrous use it's easy to spot. Not trying to start shit, just telling you what i've seen from personal experience.
On my own personal car (creampuff gts) I wouldn't be worried to hit it with a 200 shot on pump gas, doing the tuning myself. And given the conditions I wouldn't be too leary to push 300 on leaded fuel. But I wouldn't expect anthing to be covered under warranty what so ever.
Yea I agree with you, as for halfshafts breaking... you can break those just as easy launching a stock Viper hard on good tires, the nitrous wont activate until 3000 or so, usually the half shafts break from a hard launch or from wheel hop. I don't plan on spraying it much, when I had the nitrous on my black GTS I used a total of 5-6 lbs, two passes down the track and a few street tuning pulls. I'll probably go 150.. maybe 250 on leaded gas to be safe.
The car's coming in tomorrow night, looking forward to this weekend!
Where is the Atomic Explosion picture when you need it?
NO WAY would I put a 300 shot on a Viper SRT. The hell with the pistons, to quote the manufacturer of my packages' connecting rods; "These came out of a WHAT?!?!?"
