I have the Mopar race exhaust and am halfway pleased. The sound and reduced heat was good. But the outlet angle is such that the tips move too much. I plan on removing my tips and bending them closr to a 90 degree angle to reduce the opening size requirement (mine moved forom hitting the front when cold (say 40 degrees) to hitting the rear when fully hot). I also may replace the mufflers with steel instead of stainless to reduce the expansion. Probably a lot lighter than the Mopar mufflers as well.
Hey Cap. Im considering the Corsa or the Mopar. But besides the comparison of the two, do you mind getting into the install process, how difficult is it to get the bottom part of the side sill out? Proffessional install for sure? Or what do you think. I like the idea of doing the work myself, but I still want my car to look like a viper haha let me know.

I had the work done. About $300.
Technically, if you have access to a lift and tools, the job does not look too difficult. Doing it while on laying your back with the car on jackstands does not appeal to me.
Also, there are all the little things that come from experience, like installing the tips toward the front of the sidesill opening so that when the exhaust heats and expands it does not hit the sill.
As has been noted, the instructions from the Corsa site are pretty good.
Once you have all the stock cat-back stuff out, its amazing to see how complex it all is versus the simplicity of the Corsa system. Must have cost some big bux to fab that stuff.
I put the mopar race on and took it back off after about three days. I'm reconsidering now. I think if I do put it back on I might splice some random cats in.
I installed it myself with the car on jack stands and the only real hard part is removing the stock crossover. If you've driven the car for a while, the slip fits can be pretty hard to get loose, and there's very little leverage with the car on stands. Oh, wait, there was one other part that took a little patience. The most forward nut on the top of the rocker panel (above the logo). It's really tight for a wrench and there's no room for a socket.
As far as the sound, someone just posted a clip of a gen2 with cats and muffler delete over at the morgue. http://vca2.viperclub.org/forums/sho...b=5&o=&fpart=1 That's a pretty close approximation. It sounds great at idle. Great rumble. Sounds pretty mean at WOT, but it was a little ricey around town at part throttle.
Runs a ton cooler. Oh, and you'll have to bend the brackets on the tip piece. Mine weren't even close to lining up.
If you get the corsa, make sure you tach weld the mufflers to the stock cats. The metal strap that comes with the corsa kit isn't strong enough to hold the exhaust in place. As time passes, the exhaust will swing down and rest on the outlet hole. I removed my side sills and welded both exhausts in place. Also, like VIPER SRT stated, mount the mufflers towards the front of the whole opening. When hot, the mufflers move back about 3/4 inch due to heat expansion.
As mentioned I have the Mopar performance exhaust and I like it. (Especially the heat wrap) However, when the windows are up the drone is brutal at certain RPM's. Does anyone know if I added headers would that lessen the drone?
I had a set of MOPAR exhaust installed on my new Viper and I like the sound..The stock exhaust makes the car sound like a UPS truck..
They DO seem to get a little longer when they get hot (they get close to the rear of the opening, but don't touch)..Mine are pretty much centered in the opening when cold, and I think that I will have them moved forward about 1/4"
as far as sound, I can't compare the sound to any other after market system because there are no other Viper owners that live close by...
The car sounds so much better, seems to be cooler inside and actually seem to have less cabin noise..The price ain't bad either
