High Horsepower/ TQ - Clutch options?

Folks - I just had a rant about f'n RPS clutches on another site. I've documented a couple times here that we are shooting for well north of 1,000hp on the motor we are putting together now. I have a BUILT T-56 for it and a CF driveshaft.

The one thing I'm still iffy on is the clutch and flywheel combo. Any suggestions on what the high HP guys are running?

I'm using a Mcleod Twin Disc with Nebia material (kinda like Kevlar) and so far so good. However, the first one I got was an asbestos style disc and it was toast on my 1st aggressive launch!

I had not heard grand things about the McLeod...and I'll ride a bike before I ever have another RPS in my ride. What is Chad and Heffner using?

If I'm not mistaken and I might be but I think Dr. Roof's 8.55 pass was done on a McLeod. We are currently using the McLeod's as well.

Are they using the sintered metal Mcleod or the nebia?

Also curious...anyone know if there is a steel bellshousing availalbe. After seeing my stock one basically vaporize, I need something more substantial...

How much power have people made on the stock clutch? I heard they were pretty stout.

Stock clutch is good for about 600-650 RWHP, after that you'll want to look aftermarket for one to hold more power.

Putting a Mcleod in my car at ART right now because the Spec-5 could not hold the power... been told that it needs to be broke in right before any agressive driving otherwise they tend to break down.
