question regarding hurst shifter

what makes a short throw? a short throw?. the reason I ask is because I am installing my hurst right now and I have the factory knob and shaft off, and as you can see from the pic it is reduced by more than half. Well I then screwed my after market knob on and it thread right on. Now shifting through the gears it seems shorter. is it just me high in the night, and do I really need to put the hurst in. trying to post pic's bear with me. Not used to the new alley yet

Well yeah some of the "short throw" comes from reducing the height of the knob in relation to the pivot. If it comes via threading the knob down further, a shorter shaft, or a combination of the two, simple geometry says it will move a shorter distance. See if you can get the pics up and I'll try to explain it.

U- I'm telling you, quit being such a hippie, buying this car changed my life, douche bag. It's a car, if just owning it has made your life so blissful you have issue. Now STFU, I can already tell you won't last long here at all.
