Re: Iforged - Daytona

hey EFI how do you polish the outer lip, I tried some mothers and it got some fine scratches in it. I just can't seem to bring the original shine back on them..
By the way that is one mean looking Z, love the lights..
thanks.

Re: Iforged - Daytona

Thanks brutha. I use a corded Makita drill and some fine buffing wheels set to low speed in combination with Mothers Billet polish. Take your time and hit about 1/4 of the wheel lip at a time. Use as little polish as you can. You'll be amazed at the improvement in shine. Following the metal polish, I use Adam's Polishes Brilliant Spray Glaze to clean off any residue and maximize the shine.

If you guys want some Adam's Polishes, shoot me some mail or a PM and I'll get you an additional 10% off. Adam's is the best! dave@efiunlimited.com

Aloha, Dave

Re: Iforged - Daytona

The thing that really sucks about the Daytona's is that you can only run a 20x12 in the rear due to the rim halfs that they use. You can also use a 20x14, but I doubt that it would fit without considerable rub, and also your tire would be stretched even further than they are on the 13's with the 345's. Extremely nice wheels, but the width selection is piss poor. Most of iForged/Hennessey wheels do not have this problem. The wheels on this link are the ones with the width issue. http://www.iforged.com/showroom/view...umName=album34

Hennessey will also run into the same issue with this with their extreme lip line (4 inches in the rear).

I would love to see Austin do a photoshop of the wheels on a silver SRT-10 just for shits and giggles.
What are everyones thoughts of running 20x12's with 345/25's?

Re: Iforged - Daytona

Thanks for all of the pics & responses. Those rims look great on your Vette. I talked to Iforged and they can make a 19x13 for the rear. I am thinking of going 19" all around.

On the older Vipers not the newer ones, we can put a 20x13 in the rear with a 5" lip. On the newer SRT because of the brakes in the rear we are limited to 12" or 14" width in the rear. In the 19" we can fit a 19x13 in the rear with the 4" lip.

So for the newer vipers we can do 19x10 Front and 19x13 Rears.

Here is a older Viper with

20x10 F 3" Lip up front
20x13 R 5" Lip in the rear

If you want a 20x13 in the rear and have a new SRT I recommend anything in our Formula Series

Hell ya!! I will be there, I need to get with you soon, because we are planning to come to Austin for some street action. SA is pretty dead, so Austin is the next logical choice.. even the car shows suck up here.

It is about time that Gus fucks with the banana car with the great flat black wheels with polished lips that you have. Mine is still at Weaver's.

Vince, why not work with the parking brake relocation kit if that is your only problem? 19's all around on the SRT look like shit. The 355's are too short, and even with Motons or KW's, they still look too small. You should be selling several of these sets due to the lip alone if you were able to get the 20's in a 13 to 13.5 width. An SRT should get about 4-4 1/2 inches of lip in the rear. I will be your test mule as I was the first go around if you would like. Give me a call...Brady
