"Crap?" Isn't that more than a little off for a 85K car with world class performance?
I'll take that crappy car any day of the week and the new Z06 drivers better have some experience if they wanna keep up with me around the track.

As I've said all along, the SRT is a great car with the numbers it puts down. The PROBLEM is that there are other cars out there that offer nearly identical performance for less money (namely the Z06)
Being a die-hard Viper fan since I ever saw the car it pisses me off that DC let the vette get this close. As such I am forced to do nothing but rag on it in the same fashion you do towards GM for letting big block pontiacs die. I do it because I want to see the car survive. With the current condition of the car I get concerned that DC doesn't regard the car that high and we will not see another generation.

lol a barbie car is wupping ass in lemans and 24 hour daytona then right? i give respect to both cars...sayin the Z06 sucks is ignorant, and sayin the viper sucks is the same....just appreciate what dodge and chevy have to offer against the euro's

I saw a whole field of GT cars that would eat those fucking Vettes alive if the SCCA would stop inventing page after page of restrictions. At the Petit Le Mans a month ago, nearly one entire half of the board where they posted rule updates were dedicated to dragging the Maserati to the back of the field. Not a single rule change was posted related to the Vettes. Not one. I looked for one. Shit, ten years later they're STILL making up new rules to slow down the Viper, which hasn't been allowed to win in anything in god knows how long -- and CarSport still managed their best qualifying lap time in their history of running a GTS.
I'm not saying the Vettes suck, but the fact is, GM bought their victories, plain and simple.
I was wondering what all restrictions have been placed on the Viper as compared to the 'Vette. I know that they got miraculously slower all of the sudden, but what exactly change? Intake Restictors get smaller (what size are the Vipers in comparison with everyone else)? Downforce reduced?

Back when Brookspeed was still racing I talked to some of the mechanics, and at that time they breathed through TBs that were 20% smaller than stock, and they carried 250 lbs of ballast (which is pretty staggering). More recently they've had a slew of wing changes (which is actually fairly common throughout the field, except for the Vette's, from what I can see), reduced allowances for underhood cooling and brake ducting, and restrictions on the size of their fuel-fill tube. And there are hundreds of smaller changes and rules.
The Vettes do get hit by rule changes, of course, but rarely by rules aimed specifically at their cars. And those bulletins do specifically list which cars are affected, so restrictions placed on cars like the Viper are not incidental.
Suddenly it's easy to understand why NECKCAR keeps their rulebooks secret, eh?
