Gen II or Gen III

Hey, I posted in the GenI/II forum about "choosing a viper". I need some of you Gen III opinions. I looked at a 96 and 2003. Thanks. I gave my snyopsis of driving both today in that thread.

GEN III is much, much better. The newer technology and fit/ finish. The replacement parts are cheaper as well, sir.

If you are looking at a 96 RT, it is a Gen 1.5. I would go with a 97 or beyond RT/10 if you wan to go that route.

I got tired of my roadster pretty quick, and that's all you are going to find in a 03.
I wish I went with either a Gen2 GTS or a Gen 3 coupe.

Bingo.

I had a vert for 9yrs and actually wanted a coupe since I was sick of having to put the top up when it got really hot. Plus knowing someone could use an x-acto knife to get in my car made me uneasy about parking it outside.

I had a 04' SRT and liked it a lot . Drove it 4 years and sold it .
Few years later went out and got 96' GTS B&W , LOVE IT.

Other than both sharing same name , 2 very different cars.
I wouldn't go back to SRT knowing what I know now.

Fun factor w/ SRT was very good but , GTS is insane.

Well this is going to be a 40th bday present for my wife. She's always wanted a vert and I've always wanted a Viper.

Boy you guys love your GTSs.

This car will be a weekend car...going to the beach, out to eat, etc.

We have 6 kids so not too much spare time.

Maybe I'll get a GTS one day.

GenIII for the wife. GenII for the man of the house. Definitely not a GenI for the wife.
