Are you saying that it is BS that Dodge is sending someone out to take a look to see if it is a manufacturing defect or a result of accident damage? I don't think that they are obligated to solely take your word for what the car's history is.
The BS was just a general frustration comment, situational. Glad I wasn't going any faster, no traffic, etc.
I called and asked for the inspection, though it would be easier to have insurance carry it all. Dodge contracted Dekra for the inspection.
I think the powertrain warranty is up now. I have National for maintenance warranty.
I am the only private owner. Started with a dealer in NY, then NJ and TN where I purchased the mint 05 in May 2011, w/ about 6k miles. The dealers put the gen 3 hood, corsa catbacks, eibach springs, HRE rims with Nitto's. Never wrecked. I was given the factory rims/tires with the car. They only had a few houndred miles on them. I put them on last month after wearing down the Nitto's. Gonna put Nitto's back on the HRE's. Not thrilled with the PS2s after experiencing the Nitto's. They seem to hook much better, never wheel hop, don't float with road conditions. Some of that might be the higher wheel wall since the HRE'S are 19 and 20 with lower profile Nitto's. Anyhow, no wheel damage ever.
Only issue I ever had was blowing out a pre-cat. Not covered under extended warranty and dealer would not cover because the prior owner (Dodge dealer) put on the Corsa. So I paid for the Belanger pipes. Much happier. The Corsa's were not 3" causing restrictions and heat on the side sills. So, I understand not covering the pre-cat and the side sills never run hot now.
Wish I would have gotten a better pic. Was rushed to catch a flight. In the hands of the experts now.
Again, just glad no one else was hurt, or killed. And if they find it to be a defect I hope it creates a recall to protect other owners.

Urgent!!! Gen 2 viper rear wheel knuckle inspection - important
Whether your Gen 3 Viper is for pleasure or racing, I strongly suggest that you have your rear steering knuckle inspected by an expert. Mine snapped on my 2006 Viper at 35 mph and went off the road. Vehicle is totaled. This has happened to other Gen 3 Viper owners. Chrysler refuses to look into the defect or recall the auto. For your safety as well as the safety of your passengers, please have it inspected and possibly have a rear toe link installed for support. This is definitely a life or death issue that Chrysler must look into ASAP.

Reason: error in gen.

That would have absolutely NOTHING to do with covering the emissions systems of the vehicle you got taken So I paid for the Belanger pipes. Much happier. The Corsa's were not 3" causing restrictions and heat on the side sills. So, I understand not covering the pre-cat Also a bunch of C***, the factory system is 2.5" and the Corsa although necked down to fit the "factory sized pipes" is a 3" the rest of the way through and the side sills never run hot now.

I would have been very suspicious of a car that was "owned" by 3 different dealers before being sold to a customer, sorry
That is one thing I will say about dodge and there warranties, they take care of there customers! I was the last gen2 to be covered by a factory warranty for a new engine and tranny
Dodge yes, their dealers, no. I had a few instances that a dealership made me pay for warranty work. I had to contact Dodge to get refunded, which they did happily and said that the dealership was a scam. Ridiculous.
I went ahead and ordered the snakeoyl brackets ($259) just for peace of mind.
Rob called yesterday, I think we are going to get some also. Group install at your house??? (I assume the wheels need to come off for access, my 4 post won't work for that).

This is some scary lookin shit! I will definately have to look into these when I get my tt'd 04' back from RSI. Even at slow speeds it looks like it is a death trap if one of these breaks!
Saftey Inspector from Chrysler coming in to dealership to inspect it this week. This is B.S.!
Any warranty claim over a certain $$$ amount gets an outside of the dealership inspector to prevent dealer fraud. They sent someone out when I snapped a output shaft on my diff. Diff alone is $5k so they sent out an inspector. I didn't give a shit as long as it was covered and it was
