Debris in oil (metal shavings)...
You often hear a "squeak", "knock", "tap".....the 2 spun rod bearings I've had in previous cars you would swear it was something toward the top of motor but it wasn't.

Rod knocks from a spun bearing are typically pretty loud. I'd recommend having a pro check it out.

Prevention is always best. If you are going to push your engine hard, spend the money and have it built right before it becomes a problem.

Been there before. I bought my 04 back in May and after about 2 months I spun a bearing.....open the hood and rev. it up and it sounds like knocking 2 blocks of wood together. Dont drive it! come to find out its very common in the gen3's! RSI is building my engine up and REPAIRING the problem that caused the bearing to spin so it lessens the chance of it happening again. Ive heard going back with a stock rebuild only puts you back in the scenario for it to happen again, so I wanted someone who knew why this happens and do what they can to fix it so it has a much less chance of it happening again. I was also talked into going with all forged internals for a little extra.... really good idea while the engines apart and if you ever decide to add boost to the car, which I also opted for the twin turbo package as well. Good luck.

One of the best vid's to mark as a sample of a spun bearing.

If it sounds like that.....park it and plan a build.

It happened to me a few years ago with 13k miles on my engine. It now has an arrow rebuild and 34k miles on the odometer without any problems other than leaking oil cooler lines from when dodge installed it. I put a supercharger on at 33k miles and its still running strong. My car was down for three months, I know the wait sucks and especially for it to happen again! Like everyone else said, have the oil cooler changed. My car had pieces of metal in everything when mine went bad. Good luck and hopefully this doesn't deter you from owning your car!

Sounds like you need a new engine builder.

Will, I know we talked right after my engine was already pulled during the last rebuild. If I don't have any kind of resolution by Monday, I will be disputing my CC charges, getting my lawyer involved, and will be contacting you on how to ship my car.

What is the reason for spinning bearings other than wrong clearance or maybe revving it to the moon?
