Just wondering what year GTS they got rid of those square pickup truck door handles on the interior?

'99, I believe, had the interior upgrades. Not aware of truck handles, though.

Boy you aren't kidding! The newer handles look like they came off a something much nicer - maybe a Stratus????? LOL

It's a Viper. We don't need no stinking chrome door handles!

Not to jack the thread, but do all 96-99 GTS models with the forged internals also have the lumpy cam, or was this just the 96 and 97 GTS? Why was it discontinued?

Well, you DID jack the thread but...

The 708 cam was used through the '99 model year. My understanding is that it was discontinued because of complaints of rough idle. Those that complained were summarily issued Corvettes.

I almost didn't buy my Viper because of the door handles. I almost didn't buy my second Viper because of those damn door handles too. Just think of how many Vipers Dodge could have sold if it weren't for those damn door handles.
