Car beeps 3 times when arming alarm???

So I parked my 2000 RT/10 in my garage this morning and hit "lock" on the keyfob and the car beeped 3 times. Does anyone know why it would do this? Is it an indicator of a low battery on the fob or something like that?

Not sure what the deal is... Every time I arm the alarm the car beeps 3 times instead of just once. I tried opening and re-shutting the doors, hatch, and hood to make sure something wasn't ajar but it didn't fix the problem.

Ok so I think this was a result of me fooling around with the speaker between the seats... I must have hit or otherwise messed with the key cylinder that sticks up from the glove box and it was causing the system to not arm and beep 3 times. I just took the speaker out and wiggled the wires around and now the system arms and beeps only once again.

3 beeps usually means that the system has been activated after being armed.

In other words, your alarm went off while it was armed.

My 2001 also beeps 3 times...I've had the lock in the center storage bin completely disconnected a while back. My doors lock when I use the key fob, but I can raise the hood without the alarm going off. I'm not sure if I have 2 related issues (3 beeps and hood) or they are separate. What do I need to do to reset the 3 beeps issue?

I thought that after your car had been tripped, that the next time you cleared the alarm to unlock the doors, that it would be back to normal. Unless of course the trip remains, like the hood switch is wacko or something.

Working from memory here... When I replaced my rear hatch struts, I didn't get the switch adjusted right (it would not allow the alarm to arm), and when I went to set the alarm the doors would lock and unlock, but the red dash light would never blink. So I'm asuuming that the anti theft was not at full steam. BUT, I never got the 3 beeps. Maybe because my alarm was never tripped, it went from working to not working via a mechanical error.

My car isn't doing it anymore, but I don't think the anti-theft was arming because the LED would not light up and I could open the doors from the inside without sounding the alarm.
