its been running a little rough like a few plugs are fouled but a quick stab on the throttle and they all come ot life - not a problme as it is intermittent - now I was driving on the freeway and it just cut out all together- came back right away but hte engine light came on- I havent put a code reader on it but I figured I'd ask here first if anyone has any thoughts
ok the obd2 meter came back P0107 generic
manifold absolute pressure/baro sensor low input? any help on how I should go about swapping that part out and where it is located etc? thanks in advance
Strange code. Not something you see everyday from the usual suspects. Check the occilating modulator in conjuction with the flatulating accellerometer. I think there is a you tube video that pretty much covers the issue...search on the chrystler turbo encabulator.

captain, check your rep remarks. i sent you doug levins number. call him. i dont remember the code mine threw but it sure sounds like when my cam or crank sensor went
Thaks Plumcrazy I called doug and he pointed me a a few things to try, most interesting was the battery was recently dead and I've recently been thru 2 recharging as it dies every 10 days unless I drive it - he was saying the dead batteries will often give rough idles and other problems- so I'll be swapping that out 1st as it needs to be done anyway
If the map sensor checks out, be sure the check the wire harness near the PCM. I can remember readings something a while back that the wire from the Map sensor can get a short in it.
I swapped out the battery and it idles better for sure. I havent had the map sensor error, but it still misses and bogs at quarter throttle until I stab it wide open- then it seems to clear out and works as it should- almost seems like I have bad injectors- I've run some lucas cleaner thru a tank full of fuel but it remains- Not sure how to troubleshoot random misses like that

I am having the same issue on my 97 GTS with 53k miles, it's all stock, no mods. It only does it when cruising down the highway and if I punch the throttle then it will clear up after a second or two. It hasn't thrown any error codes at all. I'm going to change the spark plugs, plug wires, and O2 sensors and see what that does for me (this stuff needs done anyway). If anyone has a better idea of what the problem may be please advise, thanks!

I had the same problem with my 93. Don't drive it much till you get it fixed. I ended up dropping a valve on mine. The only thing I never changed on mine was the crank and cam sensor. One thing I wanted to try was the coils mine seemed to do it when was hot. I changed plugs wires o2 sensors map sensors ECU MOTOR. I even traced all the wires in the car. Couldn't find the problem at all. Ended up trading the car in a 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS and dropping a supercharger on it. I sure want another Viper though. Camaro is nice but it's no Viper. Oh the dealer where I traded it in ended up sending to action they couldn't get it figured out either. My map sensor code came up too. So I tried 2 of those. Let us know if you get sorted out.
Is the feeling like your car is coughing or something, stuttering? Mine did this when I would cruise around 50mph and I changed plugs/wires and it ran like new. My truck did the same thing and so did my friends Cobra, my friend in the Cobra really messed up cause he was gunning it hard. I think we got bad gas...
not meaning to throw any more monkey wrenches at you but I had the same symptoms and mine turned out to be the throttle position sensor...by the way the guys at Advanced auto parts told me if that doesn't solve my issue than bring it back for a full refund but it instantly solved it and no more tears...
It seems like this could be a not-so-rare problem with a lot of things that could be causing it. I've had my battery go dead multiple times and finally traced the problem to a local shop that wired in a fuel pressure gauge that stayed on and drained the battery after the engine was turned off. I unplugged the gauge and it took 3 months before the battery needed a recharge. The battery checked out OK. I ran fuel injector cleaner through my system before winter but there was no change. I put in new spark plugs even though the old spark plugs looked clean and it ran slightly better. I can drive any distance from several hundred miles to 30 miles to 4 miles to 500 feet before my engine dies. It is hard to start and I have to give it gas to get it to start and stay running when it's cold. Unplugging the AEM for several hours and plugging it back in and setting wide open throttle before the first time start after that seemed to improve the idle. Runs great at mid and higher RPM, but slightly rough and weak at low RPM plus the hard to start problem and especially the random unexpected dying while in traffic are not making me feel good about driving it. I really would like to fix what's causing this problem the first time and not have to buy a bunch of unneeded parts.
Solved! changed the battery and this stopped getting the engine light and code error - changed the map sensor and it idled a little better but still was missing - changed the plug wires and boy howdee! does she run like a raped ape now!
Could not have done it without all the help on this forum- thanks to all!
"Whore mouth"! HA!! I called a dude "whore mouth" earlier today. Why? Just because.
