Wheel/tire question (2008 Viper SRT10)

Hey guys,
I just joined and I bought my first Viper 3 months ago. It's a 2008 SRT10. I attached a pic just for kicks.

Anyhow, my heart was broken last week. The city had dug out a trench across the asphalt in the road by my house to run a line or something under the road and filled it in with gravel. Well, it rained and washed out the gravel in the trench and I was driving through there the night after it rained and hit the trench and it caused the right rear tire to blow out and bent all four rims.

I have road hazard insurance through the dealer for just this reason so I thought everything would be ok but I was informed yesterday that they would not pay for the other three rims because there is a clause in the contract that states that if the tires are not damaged, the rims are not covered. They are H-spokes so they are NOT cheap.

Aside from suing the city, which I am not really planning to do, is there any way I could convince the dealership to replace the damn rims and tires on the other wheels? I mean, they are Z rated tires and I don't want to have another blowout at 200mph just because the impact caused a sidewall weakness. They are saying that the tires weren't damnaged just because they aren't flat but I find it hard to believe the tires wouldn't be damaged if the impact was hard enough to bend all four rims and blow a tire.

Thanks in advance.

maybe over inflate the tires to see if they start to bulge out due to broken support wires or something.

did your lawyers look over the contract to see if they have a legitimate loop hole?

I'm having a contract attorney look over the contract. It states that if they don't have to "repair or replace" the tire then they will not replace the rim. It doesn't specify what conditions would warrant replacing the tire though.

Thanks for your reply. Wish me luck!

I would think that clause is for curbing rims and stuff, so I would press the issue and make a big stink and I bet they will take care of it. Who know what kind of damage is done to the tires that you CAN'T see. I think them replacing the rims now would be much cheaper than a lawsuit when you wreck your car because the tires were damaged beyond something visual.
