A Little Help with Brake pad and Rotor Install...

I'm going to preface this by saying this is probably a stupid question so I'm prepared for the verbal attacks and hope there is a answer somewhere in between.

I'm a rookie viper owner who is attempting to install pads and rotors on my 94 RT10. I received my EBC green stuff brake pads in the mail today and was surprised to see a wiring harness sticking out of the front brake pads. I read through the service manual and nowhere did I see anything about a sensor on the pad. I haven't started the install so I haven't actually looked at the pads on the car.... my question: Does it use this wiring harness?

Any other advice before I begin my install would be great. (go ahead make your jokes)

Cut the wires off. They also fit other cars w/ warning lites. The brakes on the viper are really easy to do.

Wow! Reading the service manual before working on the car? You can learn a tremendous amount of useful information there, despite the typos. Pos rep for you.

Only one tip for the fronts - pull one pad at a time, then stick it back in endways far enough to use it as a lever to push both pistons back simultaneously. The thicker pads need all the room they can get.

Rears - When you pull the retainer pin, keep your hand over the top of the caliper to keep from losing the spring. Grab the caliper firmly and slide it in and out a few times, then rock the rotor around. This will help free up the pads. To retract the piston, I always use a pair of needle nose pliers.

Before you drive off, pump the brakes HARD a few times to reseat the pistons against the pads.

One more tip on the rears - when you re-seat the pistons, the hand e-brake will pull up almost vertical if you're not ready for it, so as Dean mentioned pumping the breaks hard to get the rear pistons to expand, also be careful with the hand-brake. You can pull it up and down a few times as well to get the tension back in it.

You'll be surprised how easy it is to replace them. Hell, I even did mine! Trust me, I'm about as proficient at working on my Viper as SoCal is at picking football winners!
