A week ago went to Willow in 100+ heat. Met up with Rocman and Slocal. See thread in AG.
Any way, here is a video I shot in the 2nd session. Nothing special just some laps. My friend of 33 years, Mike, was in the car with me. Somehow the camera got bumped and it's tilted.
I run a Chase bullet cam into a Sony 8MM camcorder. Chase also makes a digital recorder but I haven't stepped up to that yet. It mounts via a suction cup tripod on the windshield.
I'm not using the whole track for sure. I did run my best time ever in the session just before this one. See the pics of the tires about half way through the next session.
It's stock except for headers and minor mods for the track. I noticed the sound also. Not sure what it is, some level of interference I suspect. Maybe from the Data acquisition system.
You have improved grasshopper, I can find you more speed though You're late on the gas exiting #1, sweeper #2 stop hugging the inside line, run mid track, you'll carry more speed during the turn and decrease your radius to the apex and shoot out. #3, #4, #5, #6 & #7 (if you can call it a turn) are fine.
Get off the inside white line on #8 sweeper, stay a car width off you will not have to feather the gas, carry full throttle and avoid the "washboard" that is there.
Now if you get adventuresome run the race line into #9, it takes practice but you stay full throttle in #8 and stay track right flat out, you cover less ground stay full throttle and can't be dive bombed. You aim straight to the edge of the end of the track toward the dirt and break hard turn right and instant full throttle, try it you'll like it

He paid me back on Sunday when I went back to street tires. I just couldn't carry the speed in the corners especially in the heat. I went sideways coming off turn 4 and when I recovered he passed me on the outside. I figured that's enough on these tires and brought it in. We talked later when I accused him of bumping me He said he could see the slide long before I could feel it.
