Typical is mid/low 12's. A few good drivers... and I mean GOOD drivers who have experienced track time behind a Viper, have actually pulled some high 11's with a bone stock GTS. 11.80's is the record. If you are a newby to drag racing you may be seeing low 13's on your first few passes and then snag a few high 12's before you head home. Of course there are the variables like JoelCool mentioned.
I just realized it's you Brad... I know you have TONS of track time. However the Viper is a beast of it's own nature. Some more seat time and I'm sure you will snag an 11 once you maintain traction.
Yip... I went 12.2's a couple of times with horrible 60' times. I feel like the car could go high 11's with a better 60'. It had the mph to go but the gearing is also a little strange. I am at the top of 3rd around 300' before the finish line and have to shift to fourth. I went 119mph at 12.22 with excessive wheel hop and having to pedal the car in 1st and second with a 3rd gear chirp. I was really amazed at how fast the cars are stock. I have driven some real fast cars, but this brings back some old memories of the first Mustang! Thanks for your input guys and the Viper is offically retired from the track.

11.80 isn't the record. There have been a few quicker times that I have heard of. Brunton who once frequented this site has beat that in his old RT/10.
it was in a 2000 RT/10. Went a 11.77 at 119 I think.
I believe that was published in a popular mechanics with a silver RT/10. I thought Brunton got into the 11.6Xs and I seem to remember a few other guys getting their cars into the 11.6Xs and even the 11.5Xs.
I would only guess this would have to be on a drag radial or a slick, because there is no way a actual street tire would allow you to leave good. Then it becomes an issue of making enough power to get down the track.... I think an 11.8-11.7 would be obtainable in my car with a good tire, but with regular "street" tires it would be best of 12.0-12.2.

The times I quoted were bone stock. The driver and the track also have a lot to do with it.
Are you saying bone stock with some different tires or ??? What year model would that be as well, because some of the newer Vipers have more hp and are lighter weight...correct?

No, it means bone stock with OEM tires that come on the Viper. Maybe not the "origional" tires, but the same brand / model. It was on a GTS, I believe it was a 2000? But may be wrong. It was a GTS though! I have found one thing to be true in the Viper world. When people on the Alley say "bone stock", it means nothing has been touched. Otherwise, it's not stock. I actually cut a 1.87 60' with my hard, bald Pilots. Those tires were so pathetic I never though it would be possible, but I guess the track had some good stickum layed down that particular day. I also worked a little clutch majic though...
