Ive searched. Most threads are a couple years old. What 18 inch rear tires are you guys having the best luck with? Size and brand? 60 foot times? Gen II GTS, stock IRS, with 900 rwhp. 90% street driving, dont care how long they last, traction is more important to me. My PS2s are not up to the task with my new setup............
Tonight I ordered a set of Pirelli P Zeros in 19/18. I wanted to purchase another set for my 18 HRE's I was told they had no Kumho's or Pilot Sport Cups. So I just ordered the one set from Tire Rack. NOw I need rubber for my other set of rims. Ward do you know where I can purchase a set of Kumho's?
When I ordered the Pirellis tonight I asked them if they can notify me when the Kumhos are available. I have had very good luck in the past with Tire Rack. Tire Rack then drop ships them to Tire Kingdom and they will install them for whatever their fee is. Big savings this way instead of ordering directly from Tire Kingdom. It is a national agreement so it works anywhere in the country and is very convenient and affordable I find.
Yes those are the correct ones. I have the Invos also. HA. They are 20". They hook decent for what they are, but you cant compare a 20" to a 18" Drag Radial. Thats why I have 20" cruising wheels and 17" play wheels. I used to have 18" wheel though and they had the 18" BFG DR on them. Like I said before they are killer tires, but they are made for mostly straight line.
OK, since this is a "tire" thread, I'll ask here/ I am looking to get a set of 19". Looking for best option for both grip and durablility. I am guessing that the New 08 Viper tires(Mich. Pilots PS2s) are going to be the winner, but does anybody have input on the Pirelli P-Zero 355-25-19"? I like the idea of having the widest tire possible.
BFG do not work for me. The Pirelli has a 135 wear rating if I am correct which is close to the Kumhos and Pilot Sport Cups which are around an 80 rating. I just tried finding the ratings on Tire Rack and could not. The Pirelli is sticky enough to safely play with on a high horsepower car and you can drive it in the rain or high speeds with no problem. The BFG sucks cornering or on the interstate. Or at least that has been my experience in the past. Straight line they are awesome.
