Spec Twin Disc Clutch

Wondering if anybody else is using this clutch by spec and how they like it.I'm still at 300 plus miles and waiting to break in the 500 mark, so i haven't had a chance to do a pull but is anyone else using it?

heres a question and i dont know alot about why you need 500 miles to break a clutch in, but with the twin disk coming with its own flywheel, bolts and everything, cant they break them in before i get it? they should make a machine to spin it up to speed and push the clutch in and out so i dont have to waste another 450-500 miles driving around so i can get on the gas. i have put 6k miles on my car and 900 were nursing in a new clutch!

patent pending

I have had really bad luck with mine so far.

Installed it and it wouldn't disengage. Sent it back, they ground it down and sent it back to me, I reinstalled and it works but chatters really badly, and the pedal engagement is about 1/5 inches from the top (which I like for shifting fast, but it seems a bit high).

Broke it in really easy on the street for 400miles, now it's slipping on the street in 4th (at 900whp).

Called them this week, they said take it out again and send it back. I appreciate that they are standing by their product, but I'm pretty sick of pulling the trans out to debug their setup.

What is your story so far?
-Dave.

I have the version of this that supports 1800 ftlb of tq. Ran it a year and loved it. Still love it. Had it resurfaced (flywheel and clutch) and it still had 60% left on it when i took it apart. Going to sell it when I finish specing out my AUTO. But I find it to be a great clutch!

As great as it would be to break-in the clutch in advance this would add a great deal of time, to build to product, and cost, to manufacture the product. I understand that having to break a clutch in can be frustrating but it is a necessary evil for getting the most out of the clutch in terms of capacity and drivability. \

Remember, we have this unit in quite a few Viper and aside from Dave's we haven't had any issues. That being said, as he mentioned, we are working with him to assess and fix the problem. Though he may feel differently, we are not using him to debug the system...it's already in a number of cars performing flawlessly.

Joseph is a perfect example of this (thanks for chiming in)...and we also have this assembly in the fastest car in the UK (a TT'd Viper that is ridiculous). Please let me know if you all have any further questions and I will be happy to assist you. Thanks!
