Got a borla 3" exhaust used off ebay, muffler shop stated they would bolt to stock manifolds. WELL that is not true after getting it in and examining, the flanges that bolt to the manifolds are completely different than the stock flanges (clamps).
What sort of headers are these designed to go with?? Sorry for the small photo, it was taken with a cell phone at the Dodge dealer (no digital camera was available)

It will bolt to the stock manifolds..if you own a Gen 1 Viper.
It looks like factory Gen 1 plumbing to me. If so, it's not 3"-at least not the part shown in the photo.
Im curious as well, I wonder if he will buy my stock system if I tell him it's a corsa
damn you beat me I was just downstairs cleaning up my stock setup to sell it off as a corsa...Was going to go to Walmart to get the chrome spray paint....
hehe, well before everyone on here thinks I'm a complete idiot, here is the auction on eBay that I bought the system from. I do appreciate the posts that help me figure out why they wouldn't fit. I am going to contact the seller and try and get a refund.
As you can see it was advertised as a Gen II Viper system (Borla). Some of the sleuths might could tell that it was a Gen I from looking at the pics, but I sure couldn't. Heck the flanges were barely even visible.
It is a GEN II, 3" Borla cat-back system. The flange/flex section is stock off a 1997. I didn't sell it, but that is actually my old exhaust. My guess is the flange that connects to the stock cast iron manifolds of a 1997 is different than the flange used to connect to a stock tubular manifolds that would be found on a 1999. I would just change flanges as SNKEBIT stated or use your current stock section and weld it to the mid-pipe section you received as I did with mine, when I removed the cats from the system.
thanks for clearing that up. Unfortunately the auction listed the system as coming off a 98 car, not a 97 with cast headers.
Even though that was on there, I emailed him while the listing was running and asked if it would bolt to a 99 with STOCK MANIFOLDS. Chris emailed me and stated it would. So I have an issue now I shouldn't have to deal with.
I took what they said to mean just that, what they had said. I would have investigated further had they been unsure. I'm not interested in cutting and welding, I would rather buy a new one before I start doing that. I had planned on doing 3" exhaust some time this year, but when the auction popped up I thought I'd pick it up since it would be less than new.

I understand your point and perhaps Chris wasn't aware of the manifold design change from cast to tubular, but only he can answer that.
Just know that if unless you plan on keeping the cats with this or just about any cat-back (hence the name), you will be doing some cutting, welding (recommend over clamps as the seem to leak a lot) a section to meet-up between your stock flex section and a cat-back exhaust system.
