i was changing my oil and did not put enough oil in and i think that locked up my engine how can fix this or what do you think the problems are, its not cranking over, thanks for any input i dont know what to do at this time
there was probably about 8-9 quarts in there from the start i let it drain but then i decieded to close the oil screw with about 2 1/2 of oil in the pan and start it again to let it warm up to drain faster and then it died out, it made like a quiet ticking sound but that was it
Did you then continue to change the oil and fill it to the correct level and attempt to restart?
Since you have a 93 , do you know if the head gaskets were ever replaced? was it leaking coolant? sometimes bad head gaskets will let coolant sit on top of the pistons and they will stick.

I doubt that is what did it. I have seen cars run with 3-4 quarts low and never lock the motor up.
I agree...unless you did not put the drain plug back on the pan and all the oil drained out but then you'd have oil all over the place, ie: Exxon Valdez

Now that doesn't sound good at all. Sounds like he started the car with only 2-3 quarts left in it. And the ticking sound.....definitely a bad sign!

you STARTED the car with 2.5 quarts of oil in it, to let it drain faster?

This must be a joke. If it's not a joke, it must be Viper Darwinism at work.
