Difference in intake manifolds?

I was at the HIP auto show in Omaha, NE today. I was checking out a 92 Viper and noticed his intake is differnent then mine. Not sure what the term is, but he's got 4 of those raised silver runner lines that run the lenght of the intake and I have 3. Same as a Gen II I looked at. And you can fit my whole finger in between my intake and the valve cover. But on the 92 there was barely any room to even get the tip of your finger in. Did they change the intake at all in the early years?

They changed them in 94. No big difference. Mostly the 3 rib thingy. Then of course the Gen II intakes have a single cable running to the left throttle body and a bar connects the two TB's together, instead of a cable running to each TB.
