Clutch pedal question-anyone have this prob?

Hi Everyone,
Got a clutch pedal question. Seems there is a bushing wearing out on my clutch pedal. When I press it down, it hits on the cylinder bracket and you have to move it to the side to get the switch to engage to start it. I started to take it apart but am not sure how the clutch pedal disconnects from the rod, seems to be a plastic clip of some sort. I just don't want to break anything. Then, it seems just about impossible to remove the bracket that hold the clutch and brake pedals due to the mounting. Not to mention if would be best to be a midget contortionist to get under there! This pedal is getting somewhat irritating and I would like to fix it, I was just wondering if anyone else had similar problems and what they did. Thanks everyone.

O yea, it's a 94 RT10 if it makes a difference.

If I remember correctly, the plastic bushing is wearing out(my 96 had the same problem). I left mine alone, made it pretty much impossible for anyone to steal it. If you really want to get it fixed though, call Chuck Tator late next week. He is very knowledgeable and can get you the parts you need at a discount. 914-763-3136.

There is a green connector at the end of the yellow wire down there. That line is what detects a "short" in the switch, when the pedal is pushed in. Unplug the green connector and move the side connected to the pedal out of the way. That may be part of whats hanging up down there. Next, take the other end of the connector, the part not connected to the pedal and splice the two wires and twist it together. This will cause a permanent short in the two wires and you can start your car without even touching the clutch pedal. Put some tape around the exposed wires that you twisted together. It's real simple.... The wire just needs to be shorted together, either by the switch on the clutch pedal or by shorting itself together bypassing the switch.

Problem solved.

I'm in the habbit of NEVER putting it in gear when parked. Unless on a steep hill, which can usually be avoided anyway. And if it does need to be in gear, then put it in either 1st or Reverse, so you are in gear opposite the object to crash into.
