Another Underground Racing blower car in the 9's!

Went back to the track tonight to try to get another pass or two in.

Very first pass of the night (pay not attention to the dragster next to me):

Very anemic 1.59 60'.

Car went perfectly straight. No drama as you can see.

Let the car cool off and went back and tried it again. I knew I could get the car to leave harder.

On this pass, the car went a 1.47 60', and then the car spun at the top of 1st and got a little out of shape. Had to lift a little.

Below is the result.

Crap! If I could have stayed in it and kept it in the groove, that should have been a 9.80 or better. Oh well. After that, enough people started asking questions about the car that I figured it was time to go before I wore out my welcome.

Car still has factory suspension, factory transmission and factory halfshafts.

This car is an absolute blast to drive. I've honestly never had so much fun driving a car.

It's amazing the reaction you get from people when you pull off some passes like that in a Viper. After that 9 second pass, people kept coming up and asking me if it was true that I drove the car there. I said, "Of course, and I'm going to drive it back home, too." Trailered race cars parked on both sides of me were running mid to high 10's. They couldn't believe that a street driven, pump gas car could run like this.

Thanks again to Underground Racing for building such a bad ass car.

A few more passes and it should be quite a bit deeper in the 9's.

Nice runs , I would do the halfshafts especially since you are driving it to the track.

It's funny, even with the sub 1.5 60 ft times it looks like it's creeping off the line. Very non-violent, thats what is probably saving your half shafts thus far.

Great runs though, a little more seat time and you will be there for sure.

I've had Unitrax Titanium half shafts on order for probably close to 12 weeks. They've just not been available. Supposedly, they have a run of them completed and they should be on their way soon.

The 1/8 mile was a 6.5 @ 111.7

Even with the stock suspension, the car goes really straight. I run a little more tire pressure in my ET Streets than some (17.5 cold), but the car doesn't walk or sway at all. It looks like if I'm going to launch harder, I will probably need to take some more tire pressure out. The boost came up so fast on that 2nd pass that it actually spun the ET Streets at the top of 1st. But the car is very consistent.

Just having the ability to drive the car to the track, run 9's and drive home without changing anything is absolutely incredible.

Very nice job. It appears Kevin has these blower cars dialed in. At the price he has been doing them for, there are going to be a lot of 9 second vipers around.
