50/50. The tech is so strict that I'm in an argument w/ my fabricator about how to do a full cage. I don't like what he's proposing... but it is an RT. So I'm not sure yet. Plus all the fire suppression, etc...
Suffice to say it isn't looking promising. I don't want to cut up the car that much.
I'd like to run the Maxton Mile and want to make sure I wouldn't be wasting my time and money going there for nothing.
What chance would my $1,900 Larry Macedo designed & built Roll Bar have for passing tech inspection? (Click on photos to make big enough to see, please.)

The best reference for the Maxton event...are NHRA safety requirements. Unless I'm mistaken, you can't make a 200mph pass without some qualifying passes first and safety equipment rivaling a NHRA certified 8.5 second car, is required.
wow, I guess thats good but damn. Some of the reqs for a 8.5 sec car are insane. I'm sure I would feel better hitting...errrr.....anything at those speeds but I guess I'll stick to the sidelines.
Just from the roll-bar section of the safety rules...I would only be able to run my car UP TO 150mph...in it's current state. Granted, I only have the Autoform 4pt and Teamtech harnesses.

Damn, I would LOVE to drive that and I surely have the gonads to do it too. I do not have squat for safety stuff other than a few SFI parts that everyone else has with bolt ons, but damn I would love to go. I can't see cutting up the car, but from someone that has rolled a vehicle (in one accident!) about 5 times including once end over end and ended up with 1 wheel and tire attached and every square inch of vehicle damaged I can appreciate safety requirements.

Now that the prices of virtually everything are going up and up and now that thousands of people are losing their jobs everyday as the US goverment still hands out 10,000+ checks to those people just getting off the boat, I think I will take a boat ride and get in line, I sure could use the money to pay for the gas in my Viper and GTO!
