Interested to see how much the dyno numbers vary from NC to your current location...
Me, too. I'll find out for sure on Sunday.
It may be nothing, it may be something. Just glancing at the wideband during the pass, it looked like the car is around 10.5:1 out here. When it was tuned on the dyno out there it was a flat 12:1.
We'll see. I'll keep everyone posted.
And thank you everyone for the kind words. UGR built a hell of a car for me. I just need to step up my driving so its true potential can be seen.
At least everyone knows now that UGR customers drive their own cars and run them during public track sessions.
Congrats, some very conservative driving for sure. That kinda of conservative driving is good for parts though. As others have stated the car has an easy 9 sec slip for sure.
Is this another UGR owner and driver in the low 10s knocking on 9s! "OH SHIT"!!!!
Nice first "outing" Mark. Is this the dyno session that 1Tony1 and JID wanted to attend?
Sunday is our annual Viper Dyno Day. It's a blast. We usually have donuts, bagels, coffee and juice in the morning and then order pizza or something in the afternoon. We basically just hang out at the shop and dyno Vipers and other SRT vehicles all day long.
I'm sure there will be plaques awarded for various categories, the way they are each year. I think last year we had trophies for "Highest HP Gen I", "Highest HP Gen II", "Highest HP Gen III", and "King of the Dyno".
A local guy with one of Underground Racing's SRT-10 Twin Turbo cars won the "King of the Dyno" last year.
It will be interesting to see if there is any change in power or in the tune.
The nice thing about the AEM is that I can always just email KC at Underground my data log file and he can re-write the tune for me, if needed, and email it back. I download it to the laptop and upload it back into the car. Done.
I promised that once I got my car back I would personally drive it to the track, on an open test and tune (no private track rental), drive it myself and post my results with video footage. While it wasn't my most spectacular driving, I kept my word.
Pump gas and water/methanol. CCW drag pack with 26 x 11.5 x 16 ET streets. Full weight car + 232 lb driver. 3/4 tank of gas. 18 psi in the tires. Completely stock suspension, all sway bars still in place, etc. Nothing tricky. No secrets.
It was my first time back at the track in 2 years and 2 months, and my first time ever on ET Streets. Another night or two at the track and I think I can do much better.
I'm thrilled with the car. It is everything Underground Racing promised me and more. It has completely renewed my love for the Viper and my love for drag racing.
The next open track night can't get here soon enough for me!

JB,
You're going to realize you'll either need to put the required safety equipment in the car, or you're going to be forced to run at track rentals. I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Atco, Etown or Cecil will boot me if I make even a half-pass like you did without cage, harnesses, loop, etc. in the car.
That's why I'm doing an 8-point with swingouts in my Cobra.

You are probably right. They definitely had their eyes on me when I was on the brakes that hard, running low 11s at under 80 mph.
If I was going to be at the track all the time, I would certainly have the proper safety equipment. Both my Supra and my Cobra were caged, harnessed, etc. I am a big proponent of proper safety equipment on the track.
But for purposes of dispelling any nonsense about Underground Racing cars only running at private track rentals or only being driven by UGR, I had to take a shot at making some passes last night during the open test and tune.
I figure I can probably get one more night of racing in before I'm politely asked to meet NHRA rules or not come back. I can accept that......right after I get my 9 second timeslip on pump gas.

LOL...people who make such ignorant comments don't have a clue.
