What kind of tranny fluid do you guys use?

My 94' book calls for Dexron II-E but thats not available anywhere. Maybe it's just outdated and needs Dexron IV now?

you are correct, the newest Dextron fluid will work fine. I used Dextron III when I changed the oil in my 96 RT tranny when I had it.

I've heard that stuff is too slick for the syncvhro's and can cause gear clash but I don't know of anyone running it. The Dex works fine. Mopar has a tsb for neautral gear rattle to use a thicker lube, but mine didn't like it. The synchro's began to slip and scrape gears, and cold shifting was a bitch, so I went back to Dextron.

Yo Monzsta, what about Dexron-VI in my Gen I tranny? "99 RT/10" mentioned Dexron III in his 96' but how will VI do? (I thought it was Dexron-4 at first, but the "V" and "I" are swapped). So must be V.I. for sumin er another reason and not #4 like I thought.
