On another note... if I ever get the money to finance forced induction, I can tell you where it won't be done. Not solely because of TM's story, but a combination of skeletons lurking in, and jumping out of, closets. Come to think of it, I'll just do it myself...I rarely screw myself. (then send it to Krazy when I blow the motor)..
TM, glad you took this whole experience as a lesson learned and built on it..

Old, old thread I dug up looking for something entirely different. Just for perspective. Now back to researching a recently posted rocker pic source.

lol - I've just been schooled on another thread. Apparently I'm not humble.

well, in material things, compared to many of the esteemed company in the Viper community, I'd say I was pretty insignificant. I'm yet to hit my straps as it were.

there I said it I'm insignificant

Listen - there was no nice way to tell what happened. Does not mean I'm bitter and hateful. But I stand by what I posted - buyer beware.

The high road for Jason would be to lift his game

I'm one of Jason's happy customers. More than once have I sent my GTS to Heffner's Performance for upgrades, First a SC setup, and then one of Jason's first Twin Turbo setups. Both of which I was more than happy with.

After reading a small portion of the shit going on here ( I don't have all day to catch up, nor do I want to), my thoughts are:

--Two sides to every story.
--Is it possible that Jason didn't sign a contract because he wanted to meet TM and have a trial period? That would make sense to me.
--Is it possble that Jason did not feel as though he got what he was promised.
--All tuners have some issues that arise for various reasons.
--krazy talks way too much about how much money he has, and that's funny to me.
--TM, I've spoken to you twice over the phone, while you were at Heffner's. I have no opinion of you from those conversations. Glad you have gotten past this issue? But why waste all of your time on it now?
--Move on. Have fun with what ever you are doing now. I'm sure all the time you spend here with this sad story can be spent more effectively.

It seems like all of this is a huge waste of time, thus my time here as ended. But if I decide to mod another Viper/FGT or G car, I will call Heffner 1st.

Glad you are happy Casey, I'm sure you are not the only one. No-one with half a brain said Jason was useless. He had two good workers and he has his own set of skills. What I've said is that I do not believe people are getting value for money. ESPECIALLY when there are problems.

Is it possible Jason decided to wait until I'd proven myself for a few months?

Who had more to lose? If anyone should have asked for a trial period it should have been me. But it was not discussed. We both felt that we had the commitment to make it work. There had been MONTHS of dialog and outlining the vision, and he was sold on it.

To get me over there on an agreement and THEN turn around and say "hey - let's put a rain check on this until we see how it goes" would have been a huge breach of faith and extremely inconsiderate. That should have been done before I got tickets (on HIS request) if that was the issue.

Instead he just showed by his words and actions on arrival his trust did not match mine. Something happened while I was in the air and I still have no real clue what.

2 - is it possible Jason did not feel he got what was promised?

Any JV or partnership is built around trust. If one person has it and the other does not, it will never work. You try and manage something you have no access to the vitals.

You just missed something quite important: I showed my trust by my actions. I uprooted and went over there on a dream, knowledge, and faith that I had someone honorable to work with.

Jason did not return my trust from the moment I stepped foot into his workshop you could see the light had gone out, I just could not believe or accept that. If you trust someone to come in with you and help you build a better mousetrap, you ask them what they need and do what you can to facilitate them to do what they need to do - AS AN EQUAL. Had he carried out his part, all protections would have been in place as part of that for both parties, protecting what he had for a start.

If you do not trust a new partner enough to give them the keys to the business vitals, there is no JV, no agreement. He had all the keys - I only had what he was willing to trust me with, which was not enough to do anything with in a few short weeks - most of which were spent setting up a new life, buying everything from bedding to cutlery, finding a home etc. I was not even welcome to talk with the accountant, trust was the issue I could not overcome.

As trust was never reciprocated there was nothing I could have done about that. In the end Jason learned something about himself at my cost.

3 - sure all tuners have mistakes. That is a given, especially if racing. It is the kind of mistakes and how they are handled that sorts them out.

4 - I have not wasted time on this, the story had to be told, not all have been as fortunate as you Casey. And the little bit of time has been spare time. I have not spent the last 3 years stewing, I rarely think of Jason, this is a one off focused action that calls attention to something some potential customers will take note of.

There's a lot of burned folk who are being very quiet, don't take their silence as meaning otherwise.

Interesting Story

I have been a member here for a little while and ,as of yet have not posted, it is a very interesting story, but I cannot see how a native of New Zealand can pack up his family and belongings, hop on a plane and arrive in the USA expecting to begin work. I have limited knowledge of the immigration requirements for a citezen of New Zealand, but am assuming that they would be similar to the requirements from other friendly countries. That said, in order to come and work for a US company the Alien must have the correct immigration visa (work permit) and also have the correct paperwork for his, or her, family. Normally this would be requested by the Company wishing to employ the Alien citizen and would take a reasonable period of time since they would have to prove that the Alien is better qualified than available US Citizens and would have had to have advertised the position for a stipulated period. There are other ways of entering the US for work, some legal, some not. One could arrive on a visitors visa or a visa waiver form, but there is a limit to the stay and one can not work for a US company whilst "Visiting" the US. How ever if one was to enter the US as a visitor, it is possible for the Visa to be tranferred to the correct Visa, normally following the request of the company wishing to employ the Alien, but there are certaing criterea that need to be met.

So this is a very interesting story but lacks some credibility, unless the Alien was infact one of the 12 million that are allegedly working with incorrect paperwork in this Country.

May be none of my business, but what was your immigration status at the time that the alleged incident took place, Visa waiver, H1, L ?????

Or none of the above.

The correct form of paperwork for his family comes in the form of U.S. citizenship. Barry has a right to a Green Card. But why in the world would he want one after the treatment he's received from years of investing his time and energy into this humble forum? I can't for the life of me think why.

We don't need to hear anymore of who was right or wrong at the outset.
Casey well done, you put your money where your mouth is and every one else should do the same or shut up.
I have no doubts that Jason is more than capable of doing great work and that maybe he has good intentions but the fact is there are a number of people that have been let down, you need to have more than just good skills to run a good business.
You should not have to hound someone to get the answer to a problem or to get parts that were promised, sent.
Jason you can fix this if you want then we can all get on and have some fun.
Life is too short for this crap believe me.

Busting on the US because you're not treated well here on this forum? Wow, that's lame and not something I would expect to your husband to endorse.

Most of us consider it a privilege to hold US citizenship and as far as I am concerned the fewer green cards issued, the better. However, I think your husband would make a fine addition to this country and I will choose not to think less of him because of your posting at this time.

lol - you have to understand what my wife went through as a result of all this, she is entitled to be still a little emotionally charged about it. She is a US citizen, and she loves Americans just like i do. Maybe not all Americans anymore than all kiwis Trust me, we are not anti-America quite the opposite

Back on topic: The bottom line is that neither Krazpsi, nor I, nor Ray (thnkbig) have needed to hide behind AE's, we've come out as oursevles, said what we needed to say, and this is backed up by workshops around the place that have or have had Heffner cars in them sorting out problems they either should not have had, or that Heffner should have fixed for them.

As a result a BUNCH of customers have walked, and they aren't the last - nothing to do with my thread, this is everything to do with their personal experience.

So - the nutswingers and AE cowards and naysayers can say whatever they want - it doesn't change anything.

The workshops concerned cleaning up afterwards are not going to chime in because it looks bad form, so we have chimed in, because we can. Anyone has a problem with that, too bad, a lot more of you have appreciated it. I know because of the support we've had privately.
