Still looking for just that right deal on my newest viper purchase. Needing something to keep my tt Saleen company... What do you guys think about a mint 96 blue white for 40k with 17,000 miles. Seems like a good deal to me, what do you think? Good deal or wait for something else?
Agreed, a 1996 B/W GTS w/ only 17K is unrealistically low priced @ 40K. It either has a major issue or isn't close to mint. The car you are describing this time of year will bring $47,000 retail. If your info is accurate you'd be foolish not to jump on it TODAY, but i highly doubt there isn't something wrong with it at THAT price...
...make no mistake, mint low mileage B/W's with no stories WILL bring ALL the money...everytime. It took me 10 months to find mine...and i had to pay a HUGE premium over the TEN run-of-the-mill red ones i ran across in the process of trying to find ONE mint blue and white.
I paid near 50K for a mint 97 last year, 7K on it in flawless bone stock condition kept by a collector. Worth every penny of it to me. It's possible, but very unlikely, this car does not have some hidden "story". That's just too cheap even in a depressed market.
Might want to check this one out. I did a quick look the other day and seems to be a nice car. Only one thing I didn't like, otherwise looked good. This is a reputable Viper dealer. This car has 15,500 miles. http://www.viperalley.com/classified...&cat=20&page=1

And the one thing you didn't like was?????????????
Seen that one for sale for a long time. Must look like shiit in person with the chipped door and fcked up paint. The quality ones that are left still get good money, but there's plenty of abused looking crap out there too. I know, I looked a long time and saw a lot of crap.
As others have stated, my guess would be at that price there is a reason it is below market. If you really want a '96 B/W car I would second TONY's suggestion and look at the one listed in the classifieds. He seems to get fairly clean cars and has sold several here.

Ending up winning that one on eBay.... Anybody know the true story behind this car. I'm not too worried about the paint I own a body shop and I am a painter so anything that needs to be fixed can be easily done as long as the car is straight? Any stories on this thing?
