All vipers are full on, brute force race cars. For gen IIs, the ACR is tuned a bit more for that purpose to effectively take the car to the track. It has a tuneable suspension, a small amount of a power increase, fog-light delete, 5 pt. race harness + inboard seatbelts. Some come with radio and A/C delete (correct me if I am wrong guys). All to save weight. And of course, all of this does go to future collectability. Personally, I love the ACRs... I think it is something about the appearance with the BBS wheels that makes it look more race-oriented and if I had the choice, I would buy an ACR over a base GTS. However, all of these cars are just brutal. Good luck.
ACR is worth it alone for seat harnesses incl, BBS wheels which are $, and shocks. I haven't seen that big of a price difference between comparable GTS and ACR's of same year.
C6 or C6 Z06
Camaro or Camaro Z28
V2 or cruise missile
viral or bacterial meningitis (ok, this is a bad example)
have you been sniffing glue?
gts=c6
gts acr=c6 z06?
there isnt that much of a differance to make that comparison. i have a 01 gts and i would have loved for it to have been an acr (even though i would probably not used any of the upgrades) for the rarity gts's are rare, acr's are super rare. congratulation on the purchase.
