I've tried to search option all I can. I see alot of people saying how these are great for traction on the track. Since these are a road race tire, would they still be good for 1/4 mile racing as well? Or just road racing?
I have tried several different tires and I feel the Kumho's were the best of the best. I was not able to get a set last year so I bought some Pilot Sport Cups. Almost as good as the V700 in my opinion.
I loved my v700, they don't last half as long as the pilot sports. One thing i didn't like, they are so sticky they pick up and fling rocks on your car constantly. but if your just going to use them on track days you shouldn't have to worry about that.
Thanks for the input guys. I ordered them and already got them on! So far I"m very impressed. Hit it from a 10mph roll and just dead hooked. Havn't been able to try launching yet. Now its raining.
But wondering with these sticky of tires if I should try launching at maybe 2000rpm and going WOT off the bat, or still try and feather the throttle, or what? help?

I had to feather my car with stock tires at the drag strip. I would assume, once you find your launch point and style at the tree, you whould be able to hit it and let it rip. Tires should hook even better at the track, so treat them almost like you would slicks.
About launching at 2,000, I don't know, but it sounds like a good start. Then next pass, go a little higher and learn what's best.
if your looking for a track tire check out the Toyo 888R's, some of the viper racers over here have ditched the V700's for the Toyo as they are far better with temperatures, are sticker'ier and supply even more grip

Funny you mentioned toyo's, i was talking to a friend of mine who hates the v700's and he has a gt40 (i like the v700's myself), but he mentioned he likes the toyo's and pirellis.
ps, make sure your tires i warm before you launch at 2000, you can get squirrly if you don't
