Looks good, I would like to see what it looks like with some color for accent.....Maybe painted valve covers with the color matched on the intake.....

It should hold up just fine. The only problem I would see is that chrome holds a ton of heat and just doesn't like letting go if it.

VW used chrome valve covers on beetles, on their winter kits back in the day, to help keep heat in.
