'97 GTS pulls to left under acceleration

Hi Guys,

Just checking to see if a pull to the left is common during hard acceleration in the GTS models. It tries to pull slightly left, then when I back off it becomes normal again and drives perfectly straight. It doesn't feel unsafe, but I don't want to be driving around if it's about to rip in half either.

Thanks.

Was it ever wrecked? Check out all your mounts and then take it to a good body shop for a frame check.

It doesn't show a history of any wrecks. I definitely will get it professionally checked but wanted to get some opinions on possibilities first. Didn't know if worn shocks or engine/drive train mounts would cause something like this. Just trying to get a head start on the research.

My 97 GTS always pulled to the left under heavy acceleration. Crashed to the left because it also went left when hydroplaning.

When in doubt, get a wheel alignment. I suspect my rear alignment was off after the Eibachs broke in.

My 01 is wearing the fron tire inside edges so it's going for another alignment. Last alignment was when the new Eibacks were installed.

Thanks both of you guys.

I will be getting the eibach kit within the next week or two, so I will have it aligned at that point.

Are there any more pointers that you could give me?

If it's moving under hard accel, then the rear tires' alignment are more critical. The alignment can appear correct, but unless you measure and set the caster angle with the dealer's Viper Service Tools, you'll never know for sure.

Mine shoots straight, it sometimes jumps a hair but then again a lot of HP and DR doesn't help-ha. I would check all 3 motor and trans mounts and if they is good (they can be bad and appear good sometimes), check alignment. On that note, I think GTS Dean is right on here that it would be in the rear alignment.

That's the first thing I checked this morning and sure enough the left rear was quite a bit lower than the rest. Ran it right down the street to the local tire store and they were able to find a small finish nail in it. The puncture was so small it took them a while to find it even when they submerged it in their tub. Now everything feels like it has been fixed, but I will be getting a four wheel alignment very soon just to be certain.

Thanks you guys.
