Take the time to read what I am typing. Put whatever has been powering this situation aside for just a few minutes so that you can read this for what it is. Please.
I can’t, for the life of me, figure out how or why we have reached this point. I was gearing up for war last night, and something didn’t feel right. I couldn’t figure out what there was to gain. We used to go back and forth from time to time, and we had some fun doing it, but things have changed. I’m almost thirty years old. I look back on some of the battles in the past, and I sounded like an arrogant kid with something to prove. We all did. That is no longer the path for me. I refuse to wind up some fifty year old guy fighting it out on an internet message board for no reason.
If anyone here feels that I have wronged them, or thinks I handled something inappropriately in the past, I apologize. If there is something specific that anyone wants to take up with me, send a PM and I will be happy to make right on it. If we used to speak and you have my number, give me a call and we will squash this. In return, I am willing to make a fresh start with you. We have all done things that we are not proud of. I find myself holding onto shit that happened years ago. Life is too short for that. That is no longer the path for me. If you did something to me in the past, I am willing to let it go, and I am asking for the same in return. It’s done and over with.
I would love to show up and race against you guys. I know a couple of guys that would, but no one wants to step into the ring and get beat on week after week, post after post. There was a mutual respect that we had for one another. It made the racing fun. It made the ribbing fun. I enjoyed the camaraderie. Somehow, we have lost that respect, and it has brought everything to a screeching halt.
Chris proposed a race. I am willing to accept that race. I know that there are several guys on both sides that would like to go racing. There were so many things that I wanted to do with my car and that was cut short. I now have my car back, and I am looking forward to having fun with it. I will show respect and I want it in return. I will not engage in any smack and I don’t want to be the target of any. If you guys want to spend all day beating on each other, have at it, but please leave me out of it. If we truly want to show up and race, then let’s do just that. If we have to be at each other’s throats, then I want no part of it.
This is my attempt to leave the past in the past and bring this community back together.
