Nowhere did I say that the Alley is dead or even dying. I still spend plenty of time here and still believe this to be one of the best sites on the internet. My point was only that the personal attacks and full blown resentment that some members have for one another have done nothing but diminish the quality of content that we used to see. This thread is a classic example. Gary started a thread to clear his mind (I don't know Gary personally and obviously can't speak for him or his intentions, so don't read anything into that statement), and hasn't posted again in this thread since that initial thread, yet we have 11 pages of personal crap and very little entertainment.
I have friends on both sides of many of the disputes here, and for the most part I try to remain neutral and always have. Nothing on this board or any other has ever bothered me enough to actually not like anyone personally.
And for the record, I have never moved one of my own threads to "Best Of". Other mods move threads when it is obvious that something belongs there, or a member or two point out that the thread has run its course and should be moved.

You're confusing an SA issue with the VA. And to clarify, it wasn't at all that someone just arbitrarily posted a pic of a fat chick in a white teddy ... it was that YOU had sent that particular picture out to various members of VA and told them that it was a picture of me as part of your 'Big Get-Even '07 Plan'. You admitted as much to me in a PM exchange between us, remember?
Someone then used it to create an avatar for themselves over at SA. That is nothing short of spiteful and antagonistic - the very thing RS is talking about.
Seems like it's been a never-ending era of retributive acts around here for a LONG time now. When will it end? Is there some statute of limitations to when people can get over shit and just move on? Can't we all just get along? It's clear that no one is going anywhere so why don't every single one of us here drop the bullshit, agree to simply ignore the people we don't like and stop antagonizing each other like a bunch of shit-flinging monkeys, and move on ... ALL OF US.

Did the alley have some great talent back at the start? Hell yea. I joined feb 03, lost login info as if it matters. Thing is most of us remember the past as being so much better than it seemed at the time. How many sites can you say you visit as often as viper alley? Sometimes I think its pathetic how its one of the first sites I log into in the morning. Many have to say the same thing. This site has a few issues, thats part of the entertainment (as long as you aren't involved). The beauty of the net is you can get your feet wet if you want or sit back and watch. If you jump in the mix don't cry if you get wet.

It's true for me as well. It is definetely the site I look at the most!!!!!
I'm going to go out on a limb here and state that it's got to have the approval of the "old guard" and have at least a few of them as active participants in the thread to be eligible for "Best Of....".
However, I'll qualify that by stating that I'm likely considered nothing more than a worthless "B-teamer" who has helped to drag The Alley into the detritus. Therefore, my comments or opinions have little worth relative to an those of an "A-teamer".

The only criteria is for the thread to be consistently funny. You don't see many threads like that here anymore. But it's still a pretty entertaining place.
