Will the Nitto 315/35/17 Drag Radials work with stock Gen I rims? Or is there another drag radial that is wider that you would recomend and be ok for mostly street use. I know Hoosier has one thats 335, but that one seems like too much of a straight slick for me.
Well, I would rather run wider tires but just didn't see many options available. How many miles would I get out of the Hoosiers? Do they ok on the interstate? Would I be better off with a really sticky street tire rather then a drag radial?
So are those Kuhmos a bit better then the Hoosiers as far as lasting longer and are they ok if a little highway driving is done? They also seem almost like a full slick except for those 2 grooves.
315's will fit just fine on the rear rims though right? What is the exact size of the 17"s anyway? I figured even though there about 3/4 inch narrower then 335's they'll still hook better then a 335 street tire since the nittos are a drag radial.
315's on the rear will look retarded. i know you want to tell yourself they'll look good to save a buck. don't do it, but if you take a picture so nobody else makes the same mistake.
I had a set of Sumitomo 275/40/17 and 315/35/17 HTR-Z on my Gen1 a while ago. While the later would fit on the 17x13 rear wheels and the car had no problem driving around, I wouldn't do it again. Looks really ugly on the back wheels. Only reason I did it because I was short on cash and needed to make a 1000-miles trip back home.
