Update...
The weather this week in New Jersey is looking to be awesome. Clear skies predicted from today through Saturday and temps in the 60's on Thursday.
I need somebody local to provide/transport a grill that we can use on Thursday. I talked to V10 this morning, maybe Gary can help us out? I'll be picking up food Wednesday night. I'd like to thank everybody for getting payment to me. I've got a few last minute entries who are taking slots. Any additional spectators who are going to eat can plan on paying me at the track.
And my GTS is ready to go. I got my 18" BFG DR's mounted on Saturday. The car now has a set of Unitrax shafts in it and is sitting detailed, fueled and ready to race after a 130-mile trip back from Tator's on Thursday.

I just called Atco to find out about track prep and the standard prep includes VHT until the 330'. We have both lanes currently prep'd until the 330'.
I'm not sure about the majority, but I will need the full track sprayed with VHT. In order to do this, Atco needs to know by tomorrow(Wednesday afternoon). VHT for the full 1/4 costs an additional $600 PER LANE.
If everyone doesn't want to go for full prep on both lanes, perhaps we can split the group to where one lane is for those willing to pay for the extra prep and the other lane is standard.
Any thoughts on this?

Good for 330' and if anyone wants to split the cost for making my car faster so I need addl VHT, please PM me ASAP! My E350 van died when the spark plug blew out of the head while in Albany NY on Sunday, 250 miles north of my house. I drive it back down today on 7 cylinders with the plug and fuel injector disconected and the engine puffing like a bitch with a huge hold in the head. I have a charcoal grill at my house, I told Josh I am game for bringing it if need be, but I was kind of an alternate. My grill is pretty decent size and real charcoal and it would be great. It isn't a looker with stainless, it is a real smoker wth the smoker box on the sie and I use it a lot. Anyhow, my van is down so if it can be picked up, I am 100% in donating it and I will buy the charcoal for us too if we want it. Anyhow, LMK I am in Merchantville zip 08109 40 min from the track. Gary

Now that the prices of virtually everything are going up and up and now that thousands of people are losing their jobs everyday as the US goverment still hands out 10,000+ checks to those people just getting off the boat, I think I will take a boat ride and get in line, I sure could use the money to pay for the gas in my Viper and GTO!

I'm on two wheels with no straps, short swingarm and geared for 108mph in first gear....less traction the better for me...sorry.
I waxed my car twice, well my one employee did-that is worth min .1 second and it was long overdue. I did NOT get a chance to tune my VEC II for the goodies I recently added, so I will do a few pulls on the way over in the morning in 4th and dial it in for a 11.5-12.0 AF on WM (WW fluid)+93 Super Unleaded. I just want to say a BIG thanks to SPEC Clutch as they helped me at the last minute and it was a big help too. THANKS MATT @ SPEC! Anyhow, new clutch and racing on it already with 30 miles on it, but so be it. The good news is I have a Spec 3+ and I am making 700 RWHP I suspect or there about, so I overbought on the clutch side and should be fine. Nothing like doing a final tune at the track watching my WB, logging and doing runs so to me this will be a test and tune day. Anxious and SO HAPPY this event is near me!
Late update...
Weather looks perfect for tomorrow.
I spoke with Kevin Sway today. The track will be prepped out 330' tomorrow morning. Weather has been good and they "have had no problems all week with the track." If we want additional prep, he'll be there tomorrow and can glue down the track again. We can work out the cost among those interested. It will only take him a few minutes to prep out the lane.
I think I got plenty of food: 50 pieces of chicken, 10# macaroni salad, 3-dozen hamburgers, 4-dozen hot dogs, condiments, chips, pretzels, soda and Josh is bringing a few cases of water and Gatorade. We also may place an order for some wings from a local bar/restaurant. vettkiller is bringing the grill.
Looking forward to tomorrow. Bring a pen to fill out your tech card. You must wear a helmet in New Jersey regardless of ET/trap speed, long pants for drivers. Kids are allowed in the pit area, but may not ride bikes, skateboards, wagons, etc.. I hope every body has a good time.
Sean.
I just got back, I ran a few 10.8 passes with my new clutch not broken in not grabbing and not hooking on the line and even slipping in 4th gear! I ran a 10.8 on 36 PSI in the rear wheels! LOL I got 10 passes in, but I did not break my new clutch in and it wasn't having it. I had to call it a day as my rear made a noise and I think I chipped a tooth in the center section or the like. It is a shame; I think there was a person selling a new OEM center section for $350 a few weeks back on the Alley. I think I need a new one ;-)
As for V10Kingsnake he launched very easy as he had 20's on and could have ran it harder, but he was easy. That car can be a LOT faster with smaller rims and more aggressive driving. He did right by taking it very easy as it is a new engine.
Thanks for Snorman for setting this up! it was a shame there was not more people, but I was hapy to meet a few Alley members and it was a nice group of people. One solid black GTS ran an 8.45 and wasn't hooking (so I heard) that was trailered in, and another silver RT10 almost kicked into the 8's, but stopped running. Anyhow, good times and a lot of guys like me that only ran their cars for the first or second time. I am sure a lot of these guys, like me can go a LOT faster . I am VERY confident on a clutch alone my car will hit a low 10 and with a clutch, traction and a tune (I only did the rough tune TODAY) I might barely hit a 9. A happy day that nobody got hurt and we all came home driving the cars home! I HAVE A LOT OF VIDEO, will post later, very tired. Gary
