San Diego / Las Vegas / Racing some Hayabusa Motorcycles / VIDEO

Guys,

In exactly 8 days, my friend and I will be taking the Viper from San Diego to Las Vegas, for a 3 day event of fun. On the way there, I am supposed to meet up with some Hayabusa guys that want to race the car. I will be video taping the event, and I hope the bike guy does too. Then once I get to Vegas, I have another race against a Hayabusa guy. All this is for fun, and win or lose, the videos will be posted.

I wanted to find out if any of you between San Diego and Las Vegas wanted to meet up? Thursday, August 7th is the day I am heading up there. We'll be leaving here late morning some time.

My car is being worked on now and it is supposed to go to the dyno tomorrow to test out the new NOS system. As it stands, I expect I will have a 525 RWHP car on a stroked motor only with 3:54 gears. I'll have brand new Pilot tires and two people in the car (we weigh about 430 pounds combined. This is for fun, so I am not going to kick my friend out of the car. I am expecting at least a 200 shot of NOS, potentially more if it all looks good on the Dyno. So hopefully I am putting down at least 700 RWHP, maybe even 750.

Thoughts, comments? ANybody want to join up?

What nitrous setup did you go with? Over 400lbs could be a handicap w/o
the nitrous.

Do you have a Gen I?? 525 RWHP seems low for a stroker motor.

I think 525RWHP is close for a GEN-I -

From what I've seen, the range is 500 to 550 - I'm hoping mine is closer to
the upper end, but I need to dyno my car.

Are the Busas that are showing up to race you stock or modded? If you run a stock busa, you will need at least 750rwph to beat him without your friend that is Good luck and have fun

Keep it stock. BIkers are cheaters. THEY WILL claim stock, but they'll have a hidden NOS bottle, cam, bore, you name it.
Superbar, your only problem will be traction. I suspect the outcome of the race will be they taking off and you sitting there spinning. In fact, I 'll bet on it. Practice with your NOS set and perhaps get some Kumho's.. Your NOS will eat up your Pilots.. I wish you luck and go from a roll, not 20mph, but more like 50 or so..

Yeah, plan is to go from a roll in 3rd gear, spraying the whole time. I figure in 3rd I should have plenty of traction.

Yep, that is what I have. Figure about 700 HP to the rear wheels with the NOS on. From what I have read, that will not be enough to beat the bike even from a 50 or 6o MP roll.
