TPS Recalibrating after installing new Accufab TB's
Anyone here know how I can recalibrate my TPS for my 2000 GTS? I did search first on the Alley too under TPS and Throttle Positioning Sensor and got nothing for this. I Googled and found different things for it, but it seems simple once I can hear the true answer. I even checked my Viper 2000 Service Manual and although it described how it operates and such, it sure as poop does not say how to recalibrate it. I have an idle hang after getting on the throttle after coming to a light now that I never had before. It does go away, but takes a bit and anyhow I am going to recalibrate the TPS since I the TB's are changed to the bigger units and I never recalibrated the TPS. TY Gary

Now that the prices of virtually everything are going up and up and now that thousands of people are losing their jobs everyday as the US goverment still hands out 10,000+ checks to those people just getting off the boat, I think I will take a boat ride and get in line, I sure could use the money to pay for the gas in my Viper and GTO!
I would call Tator to be sure, but I think when you turn the key to the on position(without starting the car) you slowly push the throttle to full then back off. I'm not sure if it is only once or possibly up to 3 times, but again, call Tator(914-763-3136).
I'm VERY disappointed you didn't try and sell me a new set you just happen to have laying around I am trying to get this done today and I will try that one, but if anyone knows for sure, please post as I want to dial in my VEC II to really tweak this combo. Right now this baby is SCREAMING fast and pulling very hard. Can't wait to wipe of some of you TT owners at Atco with my little Roe
None needed. If the at-idle value is between .5 and .7 volts the pcm will automatically set the min. tps volts.
You may have an air flow issue. With a scan tool you adjust the idle stop until the stepper motor (IAC) counts are around 12-30.
Make SURE that one t/b isn't holding the other open. The shaft between them should be adjusted so it's loose with both t/b's on their stops, then tighten the adjustment to remove any play without opening either t/b.
Thanks to Joe Dell AKA JD (JID) for this:
"Unplug the 3 PCM plugs for at least 10 minutes. I generally wait half an hour to be safe.
Plug all three connectors back in. Get in the car, turn the ignition on, but don't start the car. While the ignition is on, depress the gas pedal all the way to floor and release it. Do it a few times. The reason for doing this is the PCM learns the voltage output range for the throttle position sensor.
Start the car. It may run rough for a few minutes, but with time it will improve."
I also found I had a hair bit of tension on my TB cable too, and cleared that up and reset my TPS THANK YOU MONZSTA! Started the GTS and didn't drive it as yet, but anyhow I think I should be okay now and thanks! At least we now have it on the Alley how to do this should it be referenced in the future. :-)
