I've watched this car go through eBay about 4 times and it's been up on the VCA since September...
I'm in the market now, looking actively....
Anything that I'm missing? I know the price is a bit high, but considering what's in the car, does anyone know anything about this car that makes it suspect?
Wow, THATS CHEAP !! Investigate further to be sure there isn't a "surprise" he's not mentioning becuase if there isn't then it's a STEAL and I'd jump on it*
whats jumps out at me RIGHT away is the mods, wheels and front bumper. Most people looking for a under 10k mile B&W are "purists". They want an all stock, factory car...
And the price is good, but its no give-away.. There is another B&W on ebay out in Arizona.. Car looks pristine to me, 6000 miles, all stock.. He had a buy it now at $49k (obo.) with no takers. Its been listed 3-4 times... Market is tough right now..
Indeed the market is tough. What I'm up against is a total project budget. I want to get a car, 96-99, either blue/white, black, black and stripe (not sure what colors were striped) to send to Heffner for a TT system. I can't have more than a specific amount into the car....need the rest for Heffner...
I'm open to offers if anyone has either a car that fits my needs, or (more preferable), a TT car that was done by Heffner that is for sale....
Tators had to fix the car because it got bumped on the highway in New York and went through the woods to grandmothers house.
I was all ready to pull the trigger on it, until I found out, not to mention the accident is listed on car fax.
It's worth about $40k though...

Yup, went to see it prior to buying my B&W. THe guy who's selling it is a prick if you try and talk sense to him. He was originally at $55k a month ago, and he was all cocky when I told him the car is worth around the low $40's.
It is bone stock and a clean car though.
He's not a bad guy, just paid a lot for it in it's original state. It was pristine, with something like 800 miles on it when he bought it. Trying to recoup something on it. It's a little over the top for most peoples taste, and with it's history going to be a tough sell.
Like i said, without it's issue's it'da been sold a loooong time ago...at more than the asking price to boot. B/W value's are really strong and will only get stronger in the future with low miles in original form* I personally know of two people whom bought a Gen II B/W over the new 06' Gen III coupes at the dealer. And now with the Gen 4's being nearly identical from a styling perspective this trend will stay for a long time to come...
i agree: with the ugly bumper , NOS in the trunk, accident on history, i wouldnt advise paying over 40K for it. (I am a newb, but i have been following prices for the past 5 years...)
Then again, if someone is looking for those mods, i could see it sell for 45...

WOW! That's some thread! I feel much better now that I didn't buy it!
I had talked to Adam on the phone for hours on this car and he sounded like a real nice guy and someone who you could trust, especially because we're both from NY.
He had told me to call Chuck Tator to get the scoop on how clean the car is and with no issues, well I got the accident story from Chuch and how he repaired the car from bumper to bumper. I called Adam the next day to ask him about what the accident report was on the vehicles history and he had told me that someone backed into the nose of the car in a parking lot and that's why he replaced the nose with the aftermarket one.
After that much damage to that vehicle, I wouldn't pay any more than $30k to $35k tops, as there are a couple of prestine B&W's to be had for low $40's out there with hardly any/no mods, but also no accidents.
I guess the moral of the story here is it's not a good thing to lie, as it always comes around to bite you in the ass eventually.
