OK, bringing up an old series of posts here. I am ready to STRIPE my all RED 97 GTS, she is a unmodified GTS but needs some stripes to bring it to life visually. I feel the stripes really help the lines even more.
So, WHITE, SILVER or BLACK?

Flat black looks freakin killer on mine in person. The pics don't really do it justice but here's a few. Almost everyone who's seen it in person has said they didn't realize it would look so good.

I would not add stripes to an otherwise original car. Aftermarket stripes, painted or tape, can only hurt resale value. I would not consider buying a car with aftermarket stripes. I'm not a real fan of stripes on red, period. Black with silver, outstanding! Blue with white, outstanding! White with blue, outstanding! Red and anything, not so hot IMHO.
If resale is not a factor, whatever colors you like, but realize you are limiting appeal to future buyers with whatever color you add.
Sell the red and buy the blue and white you really want. The B/W resale premium will be less than adding the stripes to the red.

Totally disagree-
Everybody likes a GTS better with stripes. Does not add to or detract from the value. I have an all red '98 GTS that I added black stripes to years ago, and have never had a single person or other Viper owner say it look better without them. Not once. From a distance an all red car is some kind of sports car. With stripes it's a Viper a mile away. Jon, I guess I am the exception to the "stripe" rule. I have never cared for stripes on ANY car. Just don't like them. To me it looks cartoonish, but that is why my GTS is all black. Good thing about having the title to a Viper: You can do what makes YOU happy. Paint it how you like it and others will like it too. Just not everybody.
