The volume is bigger than the Hogan's I know of and the short runner isn't really hurting anything. It was designed for Paolo's uber engine which is a high revver. However, those short runners are sized volumetrically and length wise for the power band that Mike desired.
Plenum displacement is somewhere between 700 and 800 cubic inches. I don't know the runner length. I just read that the Hogan runner length was only 3.5 inches. Pretty sure these are longer than that.

if that thing is really sporting 700-800 inchs, i retract the more significant portion of my arguement and also say that in that case its worth the sacrafice in length to end up where it is. and without chopping up the hood, i guess i dont see much room for improvement.

just the angle of entry and what not. nothing that could be done without chopping up the hood. you know what im talking about, you research all kinds of crap im sure you have seen the best examples of intake manifolds out there the same ones i have... its the guys with 4-6 inline cylinders who really have the space to get the most out of an intake. we have done a lot of playing around with it and designs and testing on engines like that... i stared at the V10 for plenty of hours trying to find a way to get the perfect manifold but its not really possible.

I just want to verify...do you not like the way the runners enter the plenum or the way the throttle body is attached? I mean, you are right in the sense that any intake on these cars is a compromise. Any longer on the runner length would have reduced volume and make the rear cylinders run lean. Shorter would have made it a 9k motor. I just know that Mike probably ran a bajillion calculations and optimized the crap out of it (on a flowbench) given the limitations. I think Paolo is planning on possibly dynoing a Hogan, Mitech, Gen II, and Gen III back to back in the next could months. I am interested to see how they pan out.

those runners look short enough to be knocking on 9000rpm already! definatly no need for shorter.... i am just wanting to guess it looks about 9-10 inches to the valve but that shit is really hard to tell in a picture
