I am not sure what day, but I can't think of a better place to hold an event and hang out and thank these guys for breaking their asses for us.

I am just amazed that the person in charge of an annual event expects a sponsor, and lead shop by far in this area, to call and call to see when they can open up their shop.

If a circle jerk in the parking lot of Maxwell is what is in store, count me out.

Piss poor planning will get you piss poor results.
Wow...given that I run the Viper Club here in Central Texas (the President), this is news to me. Also, ART is not a sponsor...where did you hear ART was a sponsor? As for planning, we do Viper events in Central Texas at least once a month with more attendance than ever before in this area...once again...where did you get your information?

At anyrate, this event is designed to bring Viper folks together from all around Texas once a year and share in good times with good folks while getting to enjoy your Vipers.

I hope to have permits and all things wrapped up by next weekend

no worries...we are not going to be hanging out at any dearlship or shop all day...hell, we won't be at a single dealership. Check out the Video from last year guys. Spritited driving through the great hill country, eating at remote destinations, dyno, detail instruction sessions, tech sessions, etc...

And this year will have a bunch more just give me another week.

I always equated someone sponsoring an event when they open their doors on a non-business day a sponsor as has been done in the past.

The information on planning an event goes to the fact that A, most of us haven't a clue when you do your "spirited" Hill Country driving. Also, you leave out the core business responsible for everything Viper in this area. That to me is either a chapped ass over something, or piss poor planning.

Permits?

Well, sounds like there is a missunderstanding between what you feel "sponsor" means and what other feel "sponsor" means. But I am glad we cleared that up.

As for the no clue portion. I don't post every single event we do on the Alley, and I am sure that most people appreciate that as we do things, sometimes, every weekend. With that said, for the past 4+ years I have been doing these I have always welcomed and encouraged any Viper Owner to come out. Ask any of the local Austin guys, they will vouch for me on that one.

Permits...like I mentioned, we have much more planned for this year if everything works out !

Tucker, I know there is a large email list that goes around for the Hill Country Cruises. It usually draws a pretty big crowd so you may try and get on that list to attend.

I don't want on it. It always seems a little frattish to me. I chuckle at the Hummer wave, the Vette wave, and shit like that. I am just not in to it. I am also the type that can't understand why people post pictures of stock cars...like we don't know what they look like. Seeing a chain of Vipers go by the ranch is always funny for me, and I just don't know why.

Seeing Ray, Mystic, Mike, Kelly and the gang laying down some numbers, eating some barbeque, hearing the latest and greatest bullshit is more my speed. Different strokes I guess.

It just seems funny to be hunting for places to meet when we are all so damn lucky to have ART right here. Seems extremely strange to me to go hunting for places, pulling permits, etc...

Exactly what we do...and then some. And I don't think there is a single stock car in the group. But no, we don't sit around a dyno talking about numbers...we do dyno, and we do talk numbers, but we mix in track time (road coarse and quarter mile), eating, spirited drives, tech sessions, detailing sessions, etc...we try and cover it all (road coarse and quarter mile) in with the BS as well...our group does it all...we have a wide mix, but is sound like your group and our group have some strong similarities. Once again...ask any of the local guys and they will tell you...been doing it for over 4 years.

At anyrate, pulling permits are for renting out an airport in this case...

Hope to see you guys in April! Or on Monday for those of you who are doing our little Exotic run and lunch

Ah, bring on the douchery. Got One gets on here to inform people of an event, and within a few moments some asshat decides to shit all over it, unprovoked. Congratulations; you've reached your being a dick quota for the day. I guess you don't have to push the old lady down the stairs after all!

Yeah, Cody and Weaver have built a lot of our cars. They've built them, and they've done an amazing job. They're a kickass shop that knows their shit. That said, those guys are also crazy busy right now. I stopped by last week to talk to Cody and it's a sight to behold. I haven't been there since last June and that place is insane; Vipers and Viper trucks everywhere and a huge add-on to the building. They're up to their eyes in work, so if they haven't responded it's probably because of all the builds they've undertaken for us for the races in March. I seriously doubt that A.R.T. has blacklisted Got One or the Roundup for some reason; they're busy, plain and simple.

There are posts on here and on the VCA board about the Hill Country Drives, so if you're not informed it's because you're either a.) illiterate, b.) unobservant, or c.) all of the above. Just because you didn't receive a personal invitation doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The world doesn't revolve around you...no shit. I just checked.

Long story short, if you can't make it out because one shop isn't involved, oh well. We'll be better off without you. Don't sit on here and be a dick just because Got One couldn't secure their involvement this year. Got One hasn't said anything detrimental about A.R.T. or their services. He's got a lot going on trying to pull this together for US, so if he doesn't have time to follow up with Cody and Weaver he doesn't. He's busy and they're busy. End of story. Sorry for you conspiracy theorist out there; I don't believe anyone is blacklisting anyone else. I'm not anti-A.R.T. or pro-Got One...I'm anti-dick. I hate it when people hijack a thread and talk shit when the original intent was to inform. If this was a smear campaign, have at it; that's what this board excels at. But when someone is extending an invite to fellow owners and some moron has nothing better to do than talk shit, go do it in a thread that actually warrants it.

For everyone else, the event was kick-ass last year. Tech sessions, detail sessions, drives, dining...it was a blast and I met a lot of cool people! Dyno or no dyno, A.R.T. or no A.R.T., half the fun is just getting together with people who are passionate about the same things. Don't let some douchebags try and discredit one of the best Viper gatherings we've had in years.

Yeah, that IS lame...posting pics of stock cars. We should be ashamed we drive these pieces of shit. Hell, why post pics of your house, or your wife if you haven't modded her...or your kids for that matter? They're worthless...though I DID hear your wife got a blower put on her...

Getting together with like-minded people sucks too. If I saw someone who was proud of owning the same car I had, I wouldn't wave. That's what frat boys do. True story. They have chapter meetings and keggers and wave at each other. Frats won't be caught dead on a dyno or eating BBQ, though. You can't rush a frat if you have a grill. Grills and dynos = manly-awesomeness. Waving and stock Vipers = frat boys. You guys getting this? Write this shit down...it's the gospel!

We are damn lucky to have A.R.T. around, but last time I checked they didn't have a track there or any place we could do high speed runs. Yeah, A.R.T. can do a LOT of shit, but they can't do everything, moron. I don't understand why your feelings got so hurt just because A.R.T. has yet to involve themselves with the Roundup. A.R.T. isn't pissed, Got One isn't pissed. But for some unknown reason your panties are all twisted up because they haven't called back yet. Care to shed light on that or are you just going to keep trying do discount everything Got One is doing for our local Viper scene?

We're waiting. Call it out. All you're doing is saying "A.R.T. isn't involved, and I don't wanna go because they're not...and you're all frat boys." You haven't said WHY you think it's shady, or why you have a vendetta against what's trying to be accomplished. Call it out. I anxiously await the nuggets of wisdom you're going to bestow upon us.

And it's Mr. Peaches to you.

I can only see one person here who clearly has their panties in a bunch.

This is very simple: For some strange reason, the main shop that everyone goes to for their cars is excluded for two years running. No, there was no phone call from either party. No, there wasn't an I'm busy. It is a dodge, plain and simple.

On driving cars around with others, fantastic. I imagine some get a huge kick out of that. Never did I say I would be ashamed to be in a stock car.

Married, bad assumption. Blower, that would be nice.

Since you plan on getting personal, show up. That will be a ton of fun.

My attendance isn't contingent on anyone else showing or not showing. I'll be there.

A.R.T. wasn't excluded last year; did you even go? We had a dyno day and a detail session at their shop. 2 years running doesn't apply seeing as how we were at their shop less than a year ago.

You're saying Got One is a liar and never called A.R.T. Got One is saying he did and A.R.T. is uninterested. Is that your beef? You think Got One is a liar? Or is there more to it? Seriously, shed some light on this; I'm having a hard time seeing where all of this is coming from.

Just because A.R.T. isn't involved doesn't mean there isn't love for them. Maybe after seeing the place the organizers determined that they were too busy to help us out this year. I don't think it's anything personal that they weren't (allegedly) called. If they were called and haven't called back, that also implies they are busy.

This is a legitimate question to you; why is it so important that they are a sponsor? We agree on a lot of things, but your problem seems to be with the fact that you think A.R.T. wasn't invited to be a sponsor, or that you perceive Got One as a liar. I don't think we had any official sponsors last year; we had some people donate some time and space, but it's not like we had an official sponsor list. TropiCare and A.R.T. are the only 2 that come to mind...maybe Atomic 4x4 because Rob showed up.

I apologize for the "wife" thing; I saw someone do that on the big-ass SVS post one time and wanted to try it out. That was dumb and immature. But I honestly want to know what the deal is. Are you pissed that A.R.T. isn't a sponsor? Is A.R.T. pissed? Do you have something personal with Got One or the local Viper community as a whole? We're doing a lot of name-calling and finger-pointing, but we're not accomplishing shit. Lay it out there; tell us what the real deal is and maybe we'll all be a little better informed.

This isn't a crying session about ART. They are great, and everyone knows that.

This is directed at Got One. He knows damn well. It isn't my business to post it. I wanted to give everyone something to think about. It is an asshurt situation. That is as far as I will take it.

ART has interest in these events as would any shop.

Alright. It's cleared up. You're under the impression that A.R.T. never got a call and that Got One is lying, and that A.R.T. has an interest in participating. Sounds to me like the beef is between the shop and Got One, not between you and I, though we both chose opposing positions in playing devil's advocate.

I got no ill feelings towards you, man. I just saw a thread about an event that was great last year turning into a thinly-veiled pissing match about who said what when and not about the event itself. Regardless of what did or didn't happen, hopefully A.R.T. signs on because they're involvement last year was much appreciated by all participants. This sounds like miscommunication, but anyone that has proof otherwise feel free to chime in.

Hey, man, personal jabs as you mentioned earlier about piss poor planning...not cool. Last I checked your not involved with the local club...those that are, and there are plenty, will vouch for the clubs activity and level of planning. If you want to get involved, just PM me and I will add you the list. We do A LOT of stuff and folks show for somethings and not others, but overall, we have recently built a pretty fun and cool group.

Now, clearing the air on ART. I emailed and left messages for Dave and Cody a while back and never heard back, not just about this event, but about their lack of involvment with the local group. As Tiff said though...they are slammed...plain and simple. I emailed them again yesterday... Nothing bad on ART, yes it would be cool to have them, but if they are too busy, then they are too busy and we will get someone else to host that particular part of the 3 day weekend.

Anyway, all positive here. No one is slamming anyone here...at least until you made your "piss poor planning" comment earlier.
