The only thing I see out of the ordinary under the hood is a MSD RMP activator with a 5600 RPM pill.

There is also an on-board trickle charger next to the MSD box. I have not taken the ECM cover off yet, maybe there's something under there or under the dash.

I got the message about this thread after I spoke with Frank this morning on the phone. Due to the nature of the issue I wish we had the car locally to actually put our eyes on it and try a few things. As I suggested to Frank I would check the fuel filter and drain the tank then refill it with fresh fuel to eliminate that variable from the equation. It sounds like qualified Viper tech could probably diagnose the issue in a very short amount of time if he just had the car to put his hands on.

I had the same issue with mine and it ended up being fouled plugs. Battery was dead and the shipper tried starting it too many times on a worthless jump box. He ended up fouling the plugs and couldn't get it to run more than a couple seconds. I replaced the plugs and it runs like a champ. Just take one out and if it's black and smells like fuel, you may have found the issue.

Hard to believe its the plugs. The car was running great one day, themn wouldn't start the next. I'll check them anyway.
I would also like to add that I spoke to Doug at RSI for a good 10-15 minutes. He was very couteous and had a worker dig up the old records on the RSI 700 package which was performed in November of 2006. Unfortunately, there was nothing in the paperwork about the engine management system, but he quickly scanned the documents and e-mailed them to me. Thanks Doug for your efforts!
I did pull off the the metal plate covering the ECM below the fuse box and did not find a piggyback device, but I did find a bright silver RSI decal on the module so I guess it was reflashed when they tuned the motor. Is there a way to test if the ECM is cooked?

I think you're jumping the gun. Pull a plug (3 minutes) and check it out. I fouled plugs in my blown LSx by starting it in cold weather and idling it for 20 seconds and letting it sit. It ran rich for those few seconds and they fouled. I'd put a FP gauge on next and see if the psi is low (clogged filter).

I live in Blairstown, NJ exit 12 off I-80.
I just pulled a plug and it was wet. This looks promising. I will pull all the plugs tomorrow and replace them. While out, I'll do a compression test for sh1ts and giggles. Still, I fear that the plugs are fouled because the spark is ocurring when the piston is not at TDC, or that the spark is way too week to get the fire started. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Jersey in the house. And this Mike fella above me speak the truth about your proximity to TATOR. If the plugs dont do it, take it to CHUCK. He's the best.

It would be a good idea to take it to him anyways. considering it has aftermarket parts, let them go through and give it a clean bill of health.

My RSI700 Viper is once again, running. While replacing the plugs (which were somewhat wet), I noticed that the ground wire for the MSD Box was loose. After finishing the plug swap and tightning the ground wire, she fired right up. YEH BABY YEH Not sure if it was the plugs or ground wire, but I'm leaning towards the wire. I would also like to add that the RSI Tech took very good care in wiring all of the add-ons. Everthing was zip tied and exposed wires were routed carefully away from heat sources and covered with that flexible plastic conduit stuff.
I would like to thank everyone who participated in this thread who helped me get this thing resolved. Later when the weather improves, I'll trailer it over to the Wizzard for a once over. According to map quest, he's a little over two hours away.

Two hours is nothing but a nice "Sunday" drive. Trailer it, really?! Drive that North young man!

Thanks for your help Doug.
Question to all, is it possible to somehow record/store the reflashed settings on my ECM in case it ever goes bad? Just wondering.
