Problem is not many Paxton kits out there yet - I think Mike Adams is installing one. He formerly had the Roe kit so he is probably the best educated one to speak on this.
It would be interesting to see what they've done differently for the Viper. The reason I started watching this was because I knew some guys who tried Paxton kits on V10 Rams (which is basically a Gen I engine), none with success that I'm aware of, and a few with major problems. That included at least two guys who worked directly with Paxton.
Anyone know the pro's and con's of the Paxton vs. Roe's Supercharger??
Just ask Smokin.... . he knows EVERYTHING... he's "in the know"!!
What are you claiming to be a wealth of supercharger tuner knowledge with all that experience scooting around in a bone stock turd of a Gen I? Ask some questions to some of the other tuners before opening that lisping pie hole of yours next time. Fuckin poser-wannabe know-it all reject dumbass. Lets change your screenname to MYDRMTURD
Anywhere in those 10 words that I typed did YOU see an answer to his question.... anywhere in those 10 words did I offer an opinion regarding supercharger tuners....... anywhere in those 10 words did I claim to know anything about superchargers........ anywhere in those 10 words did I claim to have any supercharger tuner knowledge.........yeah that's what I thought
Smokin is absolutely correct, Its kind of hard to classify the two toughter. When I first put the Paxton kit on with the 6lbs pulley, the peak was reached at around 5600rpm, eg; at 3000 the boost guage barely registered. Its opposite of a roe. The Roe comes on early and then looses it efficiency as RPM climbs. For the streets, Roe is hard to beat as longas the power can be put to the ground
What the F*** just happen!!!!! Anway,
The quality of the Paxton kit is pretty good, don't forget this a bolt on kit. It is definitly not comparable to custom jobs that are out there ie:Heffner , DLM etc. Cars with those kits look like Works of art. :thumb:
As for performance of the Paxton kit, they do pretty good. RSI have done quite a few kits before mine, and they have had good results. Anywhere from 560rwhp to 860rwhp. Just depends on the setup the amount of boost and the $$$$ a customer is willing to spend.
DO ANY OF YOU WANT TO BUY AN UPGRADED FUEL SYSTEM SO YOU CAN RUN MORE BOOST ON THESE PAXTON KITS?
SOMEBODY CALLED ME TODAY WHO OWNS A PAXTON AND THEY WANTED TO GET FUEL RAILS, INJECTORS, FUEL PUMP, ETC. I TOLD THEM THAT WE COULD OFFER A FAIRLY SIMPLE FUEL SYSTEM THAT COULD SUPPORT 700-750 RW HP PRETTY EASILY.
ANYWAY, NOT SURE OF A PRICE JUST YET, BUT IF IT GETS YOU ANOTHER 100 RW HP THEN IT SHOULD BE A GOOD BANG FOR THE BUCK EITHER WAY.
LET ME KNOW WHO WANTS THIS AND I WILL WORK UP SOME PRICING. PS - THE FUEL SYSTEM THAT I MAY OFFER IS VERY SIMILAR TO OUR LOWER RW HP TWIN TURBOS (750 RW HP).
AND LET ME MAKE THIS COMMENT TO ALL THE DIY SC GUYS. PLEASE DO YOURSELVES A HUGE FAVOR AND PULL YOUR HEADS OFF, SEND THEM TO A GOOD MACHINE SHOP AND HAVE THE CHAMBER'S CC'D TO LOWER YOUR COMPRESSION TO 9.0:1. YOU WILL DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOR BY DOING THIS, ESPECIALLY IF YOU DONT HAVE AN INTERCOOLER. I KNOW LARRY MACEDO HAS A KICKASS HEAD PROGRAM FOR THE ROE SC CARS AND A GREAT CAM TO GO WITH THE HEADS TOO. FYI,
