Chinese banking stocks getting hit hard due to their exposure to our "subprime slime" which we sold to them, Japan and Europe in the form of debt derivatives. BTW, the garbage wall st. packaged totals $495T and our annual economy only generates $14T. But don't worry Paulson said our subprime was contained and the worst of the housing downturn was behind us 6 months ago.
Today China(exporter to us) down another 2.9%.
Korea(their economy is largely based on exports to us) down another 3%.
Japan(export economy to us) down another 3.59% to multi-year lows.
Australia(exports minerals/metals to China to build the infrastructure to produce and export all the crap to us to spend our home equity ATM $$$s on) down another 2.9%.
BHP Biliton & Rio Tinto down 4.3% and 7.9%, respectively(largest mineral miners in the world).
However, don't worry as BUSH states our economy is very strong and we are not going to have a RECESSION(he's correct it will be a DEPRESSION). Does the statement "We will not have a RECESSION" remind anyone of other Presidential statements such as "Read my lips no new taxes!" or "I did not have sex with that woman!"?
